A Not So Typical Way to Wear a Cardigan

Like lots of women you too may have many cardigans in your wardrobe. For years we have gravitated to the basic cardigan because of its simple charming qualities. It looks good worn with its mate as a twin set. It looks fabulous worn over a blouse with the collar popped and cuffs of the blouse turned up. It looks nice worn with your dressier skirts and trousers. And it looks great with your more casual jeans and chinos. But what if you tried something different like buttoning it all the way up and slipping it on over your head and wearing it backwards with the buttons going up the back? What a simple thing to do, yet totally cute and unexpected! Now think of what a v-neck cardigan could do for you if you turned it around and wore it backwards? Very sexy!  Below is a photo off one of my favorite models, Lara Stone, in the September issue of Vogue. She is wearing a J Crew cardigan backwards . STUNNING!

12 Days of Fashion From 6 Easy Pieces

My latest challenge was to create 12 different looks using only 6 pieces. I tried to imagine someone that might be traveling and trying to keep their luggage light. The other KEY element to creating great looks is the styling. For instance, how a simple thing like, popping up a collar and rolling up the sleeves on a jacket or blouse can really create fabulous STYLE. {teal turtleneck, khaki jacket, black pants, leopard ...

I love this era! It sort of reminds me of Kate Spade's vibe of fabulous color combinations and ladylike looks. Getting ready to Shag! Melania does the limbo! (She gets tripped by a jealous girl and then flirts with her boyfriend. I love it!)  Me doing my own version of the Shag. (I am wearing Talbots from top to bottom.) {Kate Spade} {Kate Spade} {black suedette bow back flats available at  Dorothy Perkins .} These flats are so cute and remind me of the pair Pudge wore when she was Shaggin'. Except hers were blue. {Kate Spade Gala pumps}   Me sporting a timeless look. (I wore this look last week but it reminded me of  a look from Shag. I think it was something ...
