Everybody Get FOOTLOOSE!!!!!

This movie was as great the second time around as it was when it first debuted! Someone told me that the second one was like first one but on STEROIDS! Well, as it turns out she was right!!! I loved it!!! Although, I was about 11 years old when the first one came out and never really watched the whole thing. I used to stare at the Kenny Loggins video on MTV from time to time. After seeing the remake last week I am feeling the need to revisit the original!! It's time to break out the air popper and pop some popcorn! Let's all get FOOTLOOSE!!   What I wore : plaid blouse with ruffle from Gap Talbots straight leg signature fit jeans Clarks  black ankle boots Talbots red leather belt with gold buckle brass pearl spoon ring by Kellyssima This plaid blouse can say hick or lumberjack. Take your pick. Today I was feeling more hick. But it is fall in Maine, so I fit right in. COME ON EVERYBODY GET FOOTLOOSE WITH ME!! (you know you want to) ...

LOK Is A Okay!!!

I was going to begin this blog post by saying that I never win anything. Well never say never is my new motto and I am sticking to it!!! Well-to-Do You is one of my favorite blogs. (and I am not just saying that because I won these ADORABLE little rosette shoe clips!) There are soooo many interesting blogs that interesting people just like you and me are writing these days. It's so difficult to keep up! Well-to-Do You is one blog that I try to read daily. These girls have so many great eco friendly tips that now I have no excuse to not be environmentally cautious! They have guest bloggers from time to time ( such as myself ) as well as many fabulous GIVEAWAYS ! Who doesn't love a giveaway?? Anyyyyway, LOKdesigns teamed up with Well-to-Do You to get their word out that they are a couple of cool best friends who make some really pretty things! I am so happy to have won these rosette shoe clips. I plan on purchasing a few for gifts from LOKdesigns for my special girl frie...

My Valentino

Don't I wish that owning a Valentino handbag was as easy as opening up my magazine and picking it out!! Ha ha! Doesn't it look like I am actually taking it out of the book?! A little 3D effect going on here. I thought it was kind of cool since this is probably about as close to holding a Valentino handbag that I will ever get!!! I know.....sad isn't it.... :( {Valentino Aphrodite Python Bag available at Saks Fifth Avenue } This bag is also by Valentino but it is done in reverse with the bottom of the bag in python instead of the top. Which one would you choose????

MAXimize Your Look!

{MAXI skirt by Paper Crown } The Maxi skirt is making a come back again this season and all I can say is thank goodness! Who knew that you didn't have to wear that micro mini to get the WOW factor when you walk into a room? (Well, I did. But unfortunately too many people feel that fashion and skimpiness go hand in hand.) Fashion sometimes can get skimpy but it is really about how you wear it that makes the difference in the overall look. Just because you are bare, doesn't mean you look good. But anyway............back to the MAXI............. ................this maxi skirt is STUNNING. It is actually leaving me breathless! {by Prabal Gurung } A MAXI skirt can be a little bohemian............that is if you want it to be. It's all in how you wear your hair and make up which are of course your most important accessories.  {Stephan Pelger} Simple elegance. Talbots is doing the MAXI skirt again this year. You may remember my post last year T...

Current and Modern. That's me!

The cut: Vidal Sassoon "Tribe."   The stylist: Charlene Boggins at It's All About You Day Spa The model/guinea pig: Laura Michaud (fashion stylist/fashion blogger) Yeah, so I grew my hair out. It was the longest it had been in years!! It grew into what I always wanted. Long locks that I could curl, straighten, braid, bun and twist. You name it, and I could now style it because it was finally long enough. {this is me before} The trouble was that I didn't. Style it that is. It's really hard to braid, twist and all of the above. It takes lots of time and effort and unfortunately unlike Rachel Zoe , I am a stylist who doesn't have my own personal live in stylist. And the most I really could do with my long hair was the basics of the basics. Real life seems to get in my way every time!!! (Darn that real life thing!) So recently I was just doing the cute pony tail thing and calling it good. (Fortunately the pony tail is super cool right now;) But...

Holy Bat-Wing Sweater Batman!

{A vintage French design bat-wing sweater. The pattern is available right here !} Bat-wing sweaters are all the rage! This one that I am wearing is from Talbots . It's such a soft merino wool and I am just loving this gorgeous neutral shade that they are calling chinchilla. This bat-wing style is great because I can wear it with just a cami under it on nice fall days OR I can layer a long sleeve turtleneck under it for extra warmth when it is cooler. (My cords are from Talbots too. LOVE the vixen color. Sort of like a burn orange. A fabulous shade for fall.) {earrings from Laura's Style Boutique } Two very cool bat-wing styles from ASOS . This bat-wing style shrug by Lanvin is to DIE for!! I LOVE the flower on the shoulder and the single sequin button. MARVELOUS!  {available at AngieHearts }
