Who Doesn't Need a Pair of Hot Pink Shoes?

{ Pink suede Ciara Pump by Me Too } Much to your surprise (and mine), my wardrobe was lacking a pair of hot pink shoes. If you find yourself asking, "What goes with hot pink shoes?" then I will give you the answer. Everything neutral. Black, white, gray, navy, brown and camel. If you are one who finds yourself wearing these neutrals all too often, then a pair of hot pink shoes is a no brainer. I found these little lovelies at DSW. They were actually mostly comfortable for just about my whole 9 hour day! Of course I wore my boots into work and when I went out on my lunch break. I wouldn't want to ruin that pretty pink suede in the sloppy mess that is currently going on outside in my Maine environment.

The Polished Unpolished Look

{ OPI nail polish in Ski Slope Sweetie. The Mariah Carey Holiday Collection ) Working in retail it's hard for me to keep my nail polish on, especially when I wear those bold and bright colors that I love so much. Opening boxes, unpacking clothes, re-merchandising, and grabbing a handful of hangers are all things that absolutely ruin my nails! However, I truly believe in keeping the nail beds looking as pretty as possible, so I have decided that the polished unpolished look will be my new and improved nail look. Well, for now anyway.... :)

Sunday Inspiration ~ Because Who Is Perfect?

I can't even tell you how many emotions passed through me while viewing this video. Because who's to say what is beautiful? Because who is perfect? It's all in they eye of the beholder. And if you can open your mind, you will feel beautiful. I promise.

Nancy Graham ~ Bangor Maine's Style Icon

I had the pleasure of meeting Nancy Graham last night at my favorite downtown dining room,  11Central.  Good things seem to happen here. Thank you to  Ann Marie  for starting this fabulous business! You are Bangor Maine's Martha Stewart!  I don't know a heck of a lot about Nancy Graham, former owner of her own boutique that she simply called "Nancy's". But I do know that as a child I used to day dream about going into her shop. My mother would tell me that it was too expensive and that it wasn't a place that we should go in to just "look around." Even as a child of seven years old I knew good taste and great style when I saw it, even if it was only through a boutique window. Nancy's was located in Downtown Bangor, Maine for two decades.  However my older sister, who also happens to be named Nancy, did manage to go into Nancy's boutique and make a purchase. That purchase was the most gorgeous red Calvin Klein cashmere sweater which ...

Do You Really Need It?

{Would a black turtleneck seem like an exciting purchase if you didn't see this cute photo of Audrey Hepburn wearing one? Probably not. But since she makes it look so appealing, you are considering buying one or replacing the one you have, aren't you.} A lot of ladies love to shop. The whole shopping experience is something they crave. There is just something about the way it looks in the store. It looks so good the way it's on display and positioned just perfectly next to that other item that it could be worn with. (so you buy that too) It may be the atmosphere that you love. The music, the smell, the lighting. It also could be the customer service that you love. Feeling like you are part of something that is so glamorous and fashionable.  BUT, when you get the item(s) home, does it look the same? Does it make you feel as great? That's why you must be careful out there! Do you really need it? That is something I ask myself a lot when shopping. Of course I do...

Christmas Pins. Are They Just For Kids?

{Vintage Santa pin on the left given to me by my mother when I was 5, sparkly reindeer pin on the right from Macy's; a gift from my sister} I don't know about you, but it seems as I get older I get more childish. Life is funny that way. You are born innocent and we enjoy all the little things that life has to offer. Then we get older and we seem to become self centered and worried about what everyone in the world is going to think of us. Gotta love those teenage years! This is coming from the mother of a seventeen year old. Blah!  Today I decided to sport that cute little Santa pin on the left. I have had him since I was five years old. He would go on my coat all winter. I thought he looked so cute and fluffy. Do you wear Christmas Pins during the holiday season? Press play on the video below What I wore : ~ TALBOTS cowl neck merino wool sweater, italian wool flannel skirt and red fabric belt ~ Cole Haan brown microfiber boots ~ vi...
