Your Shoe Trend Forecast for Spring/Summer 2014

The sandals pictured above by Miz Mooz are the ones I am obsessing over for spring/summer. They are not completely flat as you can see. I need the tiny wedge for comfort. To learn more about this shoe click here >> http://rstyle.me/~1OTHG We seem to all feel super sexy in heels. They make our legs look longer and leaner, giving us an elegant looking line. However, I am seeing shoe fashion take a turn. We are seeing more and more flats in fashion right now, particularly in sandals for spring and summer. They look so new and modern. Now, if you can't do completely flat like myself, I suggest going with a small delicate wedge. Give the platforms a rest. They look dated right now. I'm sure they will make their way back into our shoe closets eventually, but for now, take it down a notch. Your feet will thank you for giving them a rest! Now, don't get me wrong. Heels are still in style and I truly believe that they always will be. However there are different var...

My Very Own Custom Made PIOL Dress!

I first came across the  PIOL  website after reading about it on the famous Olivia Palermo 's fashion blog. Yes. The fashion maven from the reality TV series, The City, which was broadcast in the recent past on MTV. I'm pretty sure it doesn't air anymore. But when it did, it was about the only thing on MTV that held my interest.  I was fascinated when I clicked on the link to the PIOL website and found that I could design my own dress! I had been obsessing over finding the perfect little black a-line sheath dress for a long period of time and have never been able to come across one. Now isn't that strange! Such a Simple Simon style of a dress and none to be found! At least in my neck of the woods. (The city of Bangor in the sate of Maine to be exact) But now I had discovered that I could design my own dress on the PIOL website! Very, very cool. So I signed up in order to design my perfect style. You can pick your color, your sleeve length, your hemline, the o...

Laura's Lovely Look Of The Day ~ Lavender & Turquoise

Since it is still freezing cold here in Maine, (1 degree Fahrenheit this morning to be exact!) I am still challenged on the fact that I need to look like spring at work! I really hate being cold and I can't say that this look kept me very warm. I did wear my light blue Uggs into work before changing into these navy blue suede wedges, so even though the fashion world says Uggs are out, Laura's world says stay warm no matter what you have to wear! At least until you get cozy indoors. Today I chose to wear colors that remind me of the Mediterranean. What did you wear today?

Sunday Inspiration ~ Oscar de La Renta Spring/Summer 2014 Fashion Show

I am always such a sucker for ladylike fashion and Oscar de La Renta gets it right every time. There isn't a single thing I wouldn't wear from his fantastic collections. How about you? I am also loving his celebration of The Beatles by playing a very cool mix of their famous tunes. You've gotta love it! Watch the show below to get inspired for spring! Make Over Your Make-Up Drawer For Spring!

Not only are you sick of your wardrobe, you are sick of your same old make-up routine too. Am I right? I just thought I would share some of the beauty products that I have currently purchased to make over my make-up drawer.  I am a strong believer in doing your make-up and hair every day in order to look and feel your best. A great wardrobe will do you absolutely no good unless you've got the beauty routine going on simultaneously. They really go hand in hand.  So, will you be making over your make-up drawer this spring?

Laura's Lovely Look Of The Day ~ Fancy Pantsy Polka Dots

Polka Dots are always so fun to wear. For some reason they just put me in a happy mood! What is your favorite print for spring?

Sunday Inspiration ~ CHANEL Fall/Winter 2014 Fashion Show

Karl continues with forward thinking. He has perfectly pegged the Chanel girl at every age. I think that actress/model  Elisa Sednaoui  said it best in the video below. We love the element of the superwoman/super-mother who does it all herself but is always elegant while doing it. I personally couldn't get over how simple of an idea this was, to have the Chanel fashion show inside of Karl's invention of the Chanel supermarket, yet it made such an impact on me. It's the era of cool comfort and Chanel has got it going on. Watch the CHANEL Fall-Winter Ready-to-Wear show below:

The First Tee Shirt I Have Ever Loved!

Okay, so maybe I don't exactly love this pretty tee shirt from Talbots, but I do have to say that it's quite possibly the only tee shirt that has my attention at the moment. I am really not a tee shirt girl, but this one just seemed to have a certain posh quality about it. I think it was the combination of stripes and flowers that got to me. The stripes at the waist give it a modern edge and believe it or not, are very flattering. They help give the illusion of a teeny tiny waist! And who doesn't love that illusion? Get the look!
Getting dressed on Monday morning can be a challenge. You had the most relaxing and casual weekend that just didn't last long enough. Now it's time to look professional again! If you are lucky enough to be able to wear jeans to work, I say go for it. Throw on your basic white wrinkle resistant blouse and a navy blazer with gold buttons and your good to go! Pearls can also add a nice polished touch to your look. And if wearing jeans to your job is not acceptable, then grab that simple black sheath dress from the back of your closet that I know you all must own. (You should by now;) You know it looks great every time you wear it. Personalize it with some fun accessories and you are good to go! Below you will find my Monday Morning Style. Shop this look!

Let A Little Sunshine In!

Yes it's still very much winter in my neck of the woods. We will be lucky to warm up to 25 degrees Fahrenheit this week! But that doesn't mean that we can't try to warm ourselves up a little by at least wearing the color of the sun. I also suggest wearing white jeans. They work well with riding boots!  Shop the look!
