Does your hair really define you.......?

Well, it shouldn't but most of us feel that it does. You hair is your best fashion accessory.  Isn't that what all hair stylists say? I believe that your hair and make-up are your best fashion accessories. But as far as our hair defining who we actually are? No. That's simply not true. We are way deeper than that. No one can see who we actually are because our soul is invisible. I think we tend to use fashion, hairstyles and make-up to portray the person we want to be. Well, let me rephrase that. We actually we tend to use fashion, hair and make-up to define a combination of who we want to be and who we actually are? Yes, I think I just hit the nail on the head. {Taking one last look at my longish hair as I walk out the door to chop it all off. } I was growing my hair out. But I hated most things about long hair. So why the hell was I growing it out? I am going to be truthful here. I was growing it out because most people have the image in their mind of long...

The Search for Higher Ground...........

Before you begin reading this, you should know that I almost didn't post it. I hesitate to tell you about my dreams for the future, because I am afraid of failure. What if I don't accomplish anything I say I want to accomplish? But then, I thought about it a little more. Why not just put it out there? Let people know what my goals and dreams are and maybe they will encourage me which in turn will set me up for success! And if you are indeed reading this, then you should know that I am so grateful for your support. And if I do not accomplish everything I say here exactly the way I explain it, then so what? I know that everything I do will eventually lead me to my dream. There is just something inside of me that won't let me stop trying. Do you have that something inside you too? I bet you do.... In case you haven't noticed, I have taken a little over a week off from blogging to regroup, rethink and figure out what it is that I really want to do in life. I am fort...

My favorite statements are not made with words......

One of the reasons why I love fashion so much is that, believe it or not, I am not a talker. I'm more of a listener. I feel like learn more that way. "What will you buy?" FRIDAY

Spice the cat would like to introduce to you the boyfriend jeans in breakwater wash from TALBOTS!  Boyfriend jeans may seem like they are very casual, so they are best worn using my "opposites attract" technique. That means that they look fantastic worn dressed up with a jacket and believe it or not, they look even more amazing worn with heels. You could also wear them with ballet flats or slip on sneakers this spring and look sensational as well. They are a bit baggy and meant to be rolled up at the ankle, creating the illusion of, "I just threw these on and I have no idea that I look fabulous!" Well we know thats never true for any fashionista. Our looks are usually well thought out. But let's keep that between us..... Here's how I wore my boyfriend jeans from TALBOTS today: Shop the look: JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. And here are even more of my favori...

A full skirt may be more flattering than you think......

Some ladies may think that a pleated skirt like this one in a beautiful floral design from TALBOTS will make them appear larger, so therefore they don't even give it a try. They key is to make sure that the pleats are sewn down at the top of the skirt and begin flaring out at the low hip. Straight skirts or even those with a slight a line can make a fuller figure look even fuller because they can tend to cling and accentuate the not so positive showing off any lump or bump in the midsection. A full skirt can also help balance out a body type with fuller breasts too. What are your thoughts on the full skirt controversy? Feel free to shop a couple of my favorite properly pleated skirts from TALBOTS . JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content.

Closet Cleaning Made Easy

Cleaning out your closet is a necessary task and I believe that you should edit your wardrobe monthly. It doesn't have to be difficult. In fact, it actually should be one of the easiest things you do, that is, if you keep up with it, which is why I say you should do it monthly. If you wait too long it can become a whole day project or worse a whole week project! If you edit your wardrobe monthly, you will feel like you have something to wear all the time and you won't feel that your closet is swallowing you. You will also feel better when you purchase something new. I say, put something new in your closet once a week as you take something out. Donate it, or sell it online. Here are three of my favorite sites to sell my clothing on: Tradesy THREADFLIP ebay Some women have smaller closets than others and might prefer to store their winter clothes away in the summer and vise versa. And as we are moving into spring, you might be asking yourself, how long can I wear...

Winter isn't over yet!

Yes, it might be March, but winter isn't over just yet! To me, spring hasn't sprung until the temps reach at least 40 degrees. Believe it or not, I will be thankful when it stays consistently in the 30's here in Maine! But for the time being, I will stay cozy wearing my big blanket scarf.
