It's Buffalo Season!

Earrings from The Canny Canary . Buffalo Plaid Vest from TALBOTS . When I was a little girl I always dreamed of moving to the city. I loved the idea of picturing myself among all the hustle and bustle wearing CHANEL from head to toe. When I would draw pictures I would draw cities. Mostly I would draw Boston or NYC. I never really thought much about moving out west even though I hear that LA is a great place to reinvent yourself every day if you want. Now that sounds kind of fun for someone who loves fashion! In my 30's I was a little embarrassed to say that I had never moved outside the state of Maine. I started a family here in Maine and It wasn't a good time to pursue my dreams. I never thought I would be saying these next few lines. Now that I am 41 I am proud to say that I have lived in Maine all of my life and I intend to stay! There is just something about this way of life that keeps me motivated and strong. The long cold winters have turned me into a "su...

Sea Green Is Not Just For Summer.........

We typically think of  Sea Green as being a color that we might wear only during the summer. I think that is exactly why I love this Seed-Stitch Turtleneck Sweater from TALBOTS so much. It keeps me warm during the cold fall and winter months and reminds me of the warm ocean waters that I have barely had the chance to experience. Find yours by clicking HERE .  Today I wore my boyfriend jeans and my Gold Metallic Elise Flats by Sperry  to keep my look more casual, but I feel like I could dress this sweater up and wear it with a pencil skirt and a heel as well as with leggings and boots .  SHOP my exact look! I have totally enjoyed having short hair. But you know me. I need to change it up once in a while. It's all part of the fun of fashion! And last but cert...

It's Blanket Scarf Season!

Today was the coldest day of the fall season here in Maine. So what did my husband and I decide to do? Take a ride further north where it was even colder! Okay, so we don't really love the cold weather, but today was our 19th wedding anniversary and we wanted to celebrate by doing something out of the ordinary. So we took a drive into northern Maine. Millinocket to be exact.  I had heard of River Drivers Restaurant from a couple of friends, so I suggested to my husband that we check it out! Plus it gave me a chance to sport this very pretty and very affordable blanket scarf that I purchased from CHOiES . Find yours by clicking HERE . SHOP more of my favorite blanket scarves of the season! JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. I had the sniffles so I had the homemade vegetable soup and a grilled cheese sandwich made with roasted tomato & basil topped with sharp Gruyere cheddar and a tomato mayo spread. I...

Houndstooth Heaven

For some reason, I am a sucker for houndstooth. Especially when it comes in red, black and white. It makes such a bold statement, yet it is such a classic pattern that it feels "safe" to me. When I spotted this houndstooth fit-and-flare dress on the TALBOTS website, I knew it was a must have for my fall wardrobe. The fit-and-flare styles are always so flattering on almost every body type. One thing I have run into when styling women with fit-and-flare dresses is that the waist comes up a little higher than she is normally used to. FYI this is the way it is supposed to fit! So don't fret about it. Just flaunt it! So, it might be different than what you are used to. So what? Have fun with it. That's what fashion is all about! SHOP THE LOOK! Wear it in the ...

Whooooo are you....?

I have to admit that I struggle with who I am every day. I think that we all have many different personas that we struggle with. Most of this thought comes from the fact that we know where we came from and our childhood plays a huge part in who we actually are. I struggle with who I am and who the world wants me to be. I know deep inside that I am quiet and creative, and not to sound rude, but I enjoy my alone time to the max. I also love creating wonderful experiences for people and I don't really care if I receive recognition. As long as someone is enjoying an experience that I created for them, I feel completely self satisfied. I didn't mean to get side tracked there. So lets get back to fashion! As we know, fashion lets you tell a story to the world about who you are. That means we can fool the world and ourselves from time to time.  Today I chose to wear this lovely Kildare Check Blazer from TALBOTS . You can find it HERE . I couldn't decide if I want...
