Autumn Romance

Autumn is such a romantic time of year. The weather begins to get cool and crisp. It's the absolute perfect time to cuddle! This September my husband and I felt honored to attend the wedding of a dear friend. The ceremony took place at the gorgeous and historical  Imago Dei Anglican Church in Bangor, Maine . Of course a wedding is all about the bride and groom. But we can't help but begin thinking about what we might wear as a guest to such a special occasion. Autumn is a quirky time of year in Maine. It's still quite warm, but it's definitely not summer. This proposes a challenge in choosing the proper attire. I decided on this simple yet gorgeous Tweed Fit-and-Flare Dress from Talbots .  Soft make-up that doesn't call too much attention. My husband chose to wear a brown jacket with no tie, and I was totally okay with that for this laid back romantic afternoon. A pocket square from The Maine Square was all he needed to look perfectly p...

Here's What I Did Last Summer....

I decided to take the summer off from blogging, in case you didn't notice. I forgive you if you didn't. I understand that life is busy. Which is precisely why I took the summer off from blogging.  I have always taken my birthday week off in July. And this July my dear sister treated me to an overnight stay in Belfast, Maine at the fine AAA Four Diamond  Belfast Bay Inn Boutique Hotel. Nothing like the hub-bub in Bar Harbor , which is also one of my all-time favorite places to visit in Maine when I feel the need for more action. Belfast is for people who want to be quiet for a minute and just breathe. Why do we have to do something wild and crazy all the time? Why can't we just be? Well, my sister and I did. We calmly relaxed in suite 301 at the Belfast Bay Inn. {This is the front view of The Belfast Bay Inn from Main Street. See the tipy top where the blac...

Lovely Lace

I initially purchased this gorgeous lace detailed blouse from Talbots  to wear to a local fundraiser event with The Penobscot Theatre Company . I wore it with black wide leg pants and tucked it in with an animal print belt and hot pink suede heels . But today I was looking at this blouse in my closet wondering when I would ever wear it again. I thought, why not today?! Just because it's lacy, doesn't mean I can't wear it with jeans. So I put it on with my faded straight leg jeans and plaid pumps and off I went.  Casual chic at it's finest. SHOP THE LOOK! JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser.
