Printy Please??

{Chris Benz spring 2011} Prints are HOT for spring! If you don't know this already then you obviously are not obsessed with fashion like myself. But, I figure that is why I am here. To fill you in on things like that ;) But before you start saying that you don't do prints, just hold on a second. Yes, these girls in the above photo may be wearing looks that are a little far out there for a normal lady living in the real world. But there are so many ways to wear prints. See my photos and explanations below for a few examples: This vintage 1970's Diane Von Furstenberg floral jersey gown  is probably still not subtle enough for most ladies but I just had to post it! You have to admit that even though you might not wear it, it is still pretty fabulous. If you typically don't like to wear prints and patterns then maybe you would rather sport it in an accessory. Such as in a scarf like this one above from Prova . Or maybe these bird song sunglasses sunglasses below from...

Funny Fanny!

Right now I am on a kick to watch all the classic movies that I should have seen by this time in my life, but haven't yet. And Funny Girl starring the one and only Barbara Streisand was the fist one on my list! I think we all can relate to Fanny Brice in Funny Girl. If you have seen this movie then I know you know what I mean.(and if you have not seen it then I highly suggest you do so that you understand.) Why do we feel like we are not "beautiful?" I put the word "beautiful" in quotes because we all have a different opinion about what is "beautiful". To me Fanny is the ultimate beauty. She is real in the sense that she lets all of her vulnerabilities hang out. She has a dream that she fully achieves because it's all she wants! Fanny is not a conventional beauty. She is different and knows it and uses that feature to make it big in show business!  Yet she never looses herself in the fame. She stays true to herself, which is very honorable and tha...

Ming Fling!

Laura and Kate Mulleavy's Spring 2011 collection for Rodarte included the most beautiful looks inspired by Ming vases from the Chinese Ming Dynasty. These vases were made over 11,000 years ago and have been a collectors dream ever since. I can see why Laura and Kate were inspired!  View the entire Rodarte spring/summer 2011 collection in motion below! Here are some Ming vases that I thought sort of resembled this skirt I purchased last spring at Talbots. I never really used to think of this skirt as a piece that I would wear when there is still snow on the ground, but I was really feeling like I needed to keep on keeping on despite the 10 inches of snow that just fell on April 1st. (not my idea of a funny April fools joke by the way) I just so happened to have this cute 3/4 sleeve turtleneck with gathering at the shoulder in a royal blue color. You probably can't see the gathering at the shoulder in the picture, but trust me, it's there, and it's why I bought it abou...

Look To The Stars!

There is just something about the stars in the universe that make you think that there has got to be more to life than what we live here on Earth. Then I saw this silk chiffon biker jacket by Christopher Kane  (above) and I was convinced! This fabulous piece took my breath away along with these other pieces from his fine galaxy far far away. Check them out! Christopher Kane Resort 2011 Collection
