My Fashionista's Block

Today was one of those days. Once of those days that I just didn't know what to wear! While laying in bed around 6:00 this morning I began thinking about my Stewart Weitzman espadrilles. They have not seen the light of day since last July! With that thought in mind, I decided that my look would revolve around them today. Please excuse my "dancer's feet." I know they are not very pretty but I have decided to get over it and embrace the fact that I have had the pleasure and the strength (thanks to good old Mom and Dad) to experience the fine art of ballet. I used to be shy of exposing my feet. I decided that I can't keep them a secret any longer. Hello world. I am not perfect. And I certainly know that your'e not perfect either ;)  I decided to think simple today. Much to many people's dismay, fashionista's do get fashionista's block. It's kind of like writer's block, if you know what I mean. So, my timeless Burberry trench dress...

I Wore Stripes.....And I Always See Stars!

1st of all, I want to wish everyone a HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! 2nd of all, what did you wear?    Every fashionista looks for any reason to dress up and every July fourth we have a great one. Reason that is. Not that I ever need a reason to get dressed. The idea of it keeps me going on a daily basis! Does anyone remember threader earrings. They were kind of gross looking going on, being threaded through your earring hole. Eeww. These ones are by Lia Sophia. They are actually faux threaders. Meaning the chain doesn't go all the way through the hole. They actually clasp in the back. Now you know what I wore. See how it looked when I put it all together in the photos below. ~Talbots striped blouson tank and necklace ~Banana Republic white cami ~red trousers from ASOS ~Lia Sophia earrings ~Silpada silver flower ring ~Sofft nude patent peep toe pumps

Organizing My Accessories

What do you think about while lying in bed awake at night? I think about fashion, styling and how to be organized while doing so. Am I a bit obsessed with the whole ordeal you ask? Why yes, I am and I am no longer ashamed to admit it! Fashion is what I live for. There's no secret there. But in order for me to be able to take full advantage of my wardrobe I must get organized. My goal is to be able to see and utilize everything in my closet including my accessories. In the middle of the night I thought of these two metal shelving systems that I had in storage up in the garage. This morning I went out to get them and cleaned them up a bit. The photo of my jewelry gives you an idea of how I displayed my favorite pieces. There are actually two more shelves that you can't see in the picture, but I promise they are just as pretty as the ones you see here. I want to feel like I am shopping when I am getting dressed. The shelving system for my shoes doesn't hold all of...

My Mixed Up Ladylike Look

Some days you plan your outfit. Some days you wing it. I would call this a "wing it" kind of day. I just so happened to own these items. I didn't intend on wearing them together. I had to get up early to get my son to his job, my husband to his job and me to my job. My shower began at 6am. And here I am!! After I put it all together I was feeling a little bit Nanette Lepore , who just happens to be one of my favorite designers. I just love her mixed up ladylike looks! I do own a few pieces of Nanette Lepore's designs, but the pieces I chose today were not any of them. However I was still feeling inspired by her. What were you inspired by today??

My "Lucky" Talbots Purchase

{Necklace and blouse from Talbots} Everyone thinks that Talbots clothes are so gosh darn expensive!! Well, I am here to say contraire mon frere! Talbots clothes may be absolutely STUNNING, however they are no more expensive than many other brands. PLUS Talbots has amazing sales. This poet top from Talbots only cost me $13.99!   There are certain instances that you will not want to wait for a sale. Like when you really want something so bad that you actually dream about it. If that is the case then you will want to forget about waiting for it to go on sale. Chances are your size will be gone if you wait! I just happened to get lucky on this one;) See my photos below to see how I wore it: Talbots from head to toe. {ring by Silpada}

Purple and Aqua

Today, there was no way around it. I had to dress for comfort. Merchandising the store is no easy task. And it certainly would not be realistic to wear heals. Here is what I wore:
