Plum Suede Shoes. YOU WANT THEM!!!

I was with a client yesterday who was sooo excited over a pair suede high heel booties in a GORGEOUS plum color that she saw online and she wondered what I thought about them. My first thought was, I LOVE THEM, YES GET THEM! My second thought was, suede? Suede in Maine?? Ok so suede is not the most practical material especially if you live where there is a lot of snow and rain. Then I had to SLAP myself!!!! Why was I all of a sudden thinking practical??! Fashion is almost never practical. I mean, you can get the basics like the traditional trench, the great fitting basic black pants, the gorgeous and warm cashmere sweaters and those are always stylish and practical, so you should always have these on hand. But fashion is mostly about experimenting and having fun! I told her YES, you should get those gorgeous plum suede booties! She already had like 5 pairs of a variety of black boots and shoes. Now she needed to branch out and get something a lot more fun! It is a lot more fun getting dressed in the morning if you have a few new fun pieces to mix in with your basics!

However, if you live in Maine, today may not be a good day for suede. This morning there is a 30% chance of showers. You should be fine if you don't have to leave your house until about 10:00 am:-) It could be risky depending on where you live in Maine. I do not recommend wearing any suede this weekend though. But don't worry. You will have plenty of days that you can, and it will feel new every time you do! (You didn't think that you were going to get the weather forecast from my blog did you:-)
