Blue and Khaki Camaraderie

Blue and khaki are the perfect combination and they are two colors that most everyone already has in their closet! They are opposite each other on the color wheel and you know what they say....opposites always attract! I love the fresh feeling this color combo gives. It's a clean all American look. It reminds me of Ralph Lauren. What do you think? Flowers Flowers In My Hair...Flowers Flowers EVERYWHERE!

Let's face it. Flowers make us happy! It must have something to do with the fact that we just don't get to see enough of them. We begin to get excited over the tiny buds we see in spring after a LONG winter knowing that soon we will see full BLOOMS, and it is such a pleasant surprise when one of our household plants suddenly is a full flowering bouquet! So, I figure, if flowers make us this happy, why not wear them?! There are so many ways we can incorporate them into our outfits. Wear them in your hair, wear them everywhere!!!

The Bow Belt

The bow belt is one of my favorite things. It turns a plain outfit into something special. It adds that extra little bit of femininity. Wear it on the outside of a jacket or coat. It also looks pretty out over a cardigan. This one pictured here is by Via Spiga and it's available at Nordstrom with an affordable price tag of $35.90. As you can see the bow belt was popping up in Prada's Fall 2010 collection at Fashion week. But, just because we are seeing it in the fall collections doesn't mean we can't wear it now and forever!

Laura's Lovely Look Of The Day~RALPH LAUREN

This lovely look by Ralph Lauren really caught my eye as I was flipping through my March Harper's Bazaar magazine. (my favorite fashion magazine btw;-) I love the delicateness of this sheer shimmery top paired with the denim. I also adore how her hair and makeup are so natural . It almost looks like she is saying 'Oh I just woke up and threw this on.' But we all know she has been styled by only the best. She looks simply gorgeous. Take note of those beautiful earrings too.

The Ladylike Rocker

Today's blog entry was inspired by one of my very favorite bands of all time, Heart. I adore quite a variety of music, but Heart brings out the rocker and the roller in me. I love Ann and Nancy Wilson. They seem to achieve the impossible, not only with their musical talent, but with their ladylike rocker style. They both are as classy as their leather is tough. Which is why you need to first watch this video, Alone by Heart from the 80's, and then take a look at my photos of what you may need to achieve this ladylike rocker look for yourself. A guitar and a great voice is not necessary:-) Balmain~Spring 2010 Blue eyeshadow can be sooo pretty when done correctly. Here is a picture of the lovely Kate Bosworth sporting the blue eyeshadow look and a model working the catwalk with her ladylike rocker style. Notice the hair is kept soft. The perfect balance for this rocker vibe. A black birdcage veil is another way you can rock this look. This is yet just one more way that you can k...

Denim Done Right

Victoria's Secret on sale for $39.50 This is the look that inspired my blog today>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> This look is from Stella McCartney's Spring 2010 collection and it is just so sexy sweet. I love the look of the lacy top under the more tailored blazer and the button front denim skirt is so preppy and sexy. In real life the top would have to be a little less plunging and the skirt might have to be buttoned up a bit, but you get the idea. The denim skirt is just so completely opposite from the lacy blouse but they seem to love each other so much! Here are a few super cool denim skirts I found while searching the web. And we all have a more feminine blouse that we could pair with the denim skirt. And who doesn't have a tailored blazer???!!!! OK, I know what I am wearing tomorrow:-) Do you??? Talbots herringbone denim skirt $59.50 JCrew $69.50 Banana Republic $79.50 Ann Taylor Loft $69.50 Anthropologie $98

Birds of Paradise

Feathers are a sure sign of spring. When we begin to hear the birds, we know that everything will be ok. The sun will feel warmer and the days will get longer. And in April I will be attending the Moscow Festival Ballet's performance of Swan Lake at The Collins Center For The Arts! I can hardly wait!
