Rosette Accents Give That Feminine Touch

Rosette accents are everywhere this spring and how pretty! Everyone loves to see flowers in spring. I wish I was more of a landscaper but time is not on my side. There are not enough hours in a day to do everything I want to do! So instead of planting flowers, I wear them! If you find yourself loving the rosette accents but worry that they will not be in style next year, then you can stop worrying and wear them! Flowers come up every year right? So why wouldn't flowers be in fashion every year?! Lets put it this way, if you love something and you can change it up every year to make it look current, then it is always in style for you. This goes for every 'trend.'

This adorable floral clutch with the rosette accent is a little something I found on Etsy. I LOVE Etsy for finding unique handmade pieces that I can work into my wardrobe. There are a ton of people out there with such creative talent! You should check it out.

I have been dreaming about this Vera Wang rosette tie bib necklace for quite some time now. Isn't it lovely?!

This open toe rosette pump by Marc by Marc Jacobs is something that you would wear forever and when the sole wore out you would bring it to your cobbler to have him put a new one on. Simply timeless!

These little lovely's are from Bloomingdales but you can get some fabulous accessories like this at stores like Forever 21  for a more affodrable price.

Here we have yet another bit of wearable art that I have been dreaming of. Lanvin glass embellished rosette earrings. STUNNING!
To get other ideas on how you can incorporate rosette accents into your wardrobe you can become a fan of Laura's Style on Facebook to view my complete Rockin' Rosette album!

Fashion Is For Models. STYLE Is For Real Women.

The fashion world has always favored skinny models to show off the latest trends. But it's the real women who actually buy them. Why does this make sense? Well I guess when it comes right down to the brutal truth, people buy things that look good. And lets face it, clothes look better when they are smaller. It's kind of like when I go into a store to try on shoes and the one on display that I am attracted to is a size 6 or 7 and then the sales clerk brings out my size (9 or 9/2) and I'm like "That's not the same shoe, is it? The one on display looks different!" The clerk tells me that it is in fact the same shoe. Suddenly, I don't want to try it on anymore. So, I just want to tell all you ladies out there who are not a size 4 in a dress that I get it. But we can't let it bother us.  Fashion is everywhere and marketing is everywhere and the majority of it is big beautiful pictures of skinny people. Keep in mind, models in magazines have the b...

FALL for Flowers!

{Leifsdottir Alegrias tiered floral skirt} Totally unpredictable and completely cool. Flowers for fall are exactly what you need to take your "I miss summertime" blues away. There are no rules in fashion. It's just about achieving a look that is your best and that you feel good in. Who says plaid is the only print you can wear in the fall? Now, don't get me wrong. Plaid is one of my favorite patterns. So maybe we can mix them together! {See below} Flower patterns are fun and so glamorous during any season. Just make your floral skirts a little more fall like by wearing a pair of colorful tights! Can you say FLOWER POWER?! And we are going to need some major FLOWER POWER especially when the temperature begins to drastically drop. {Christopher Kane ~ garden leather mini skirt} {Carolina Herrera}

The Necessary Black T-Shirt

I have to admit, I have not been getting dressed up much these days. I think it has something to do with just wanted to be comfortable. I have been sewing a ton of masks at The Maine Square   and it just feels better to not be confined in my clothing as I am cutting fabric and sewing. However, I do have to go out of the studio occasionally. Mostly it's to the mailbox, but sometimes it's to get more supplies and of course food. I don't mean to sound pretentious or anything, but I do think about how I look even when going out to do these quick errands. It makes me feel good to look half decent! Lately I have been opting for a simple black tee shirt and a pair of semi faded jeans. All I need to do it pop on a camel colored blazer and some ballet flats and I am good to go! Oh yeah, and I ALWAYS wear a mask when entering a public facility these days. I think it's just common courtesy with all that is going on with the corona virus.  Here are some of my all-time favori...
