ORANGE You Glad to See Me?

 Orange is not normally a color that I go for. But I am really in the mood for something new and exciting! Orange is a color that we don't see enough of, but at this moment I feel that it is making a comeback. We did see glimpses of it last year when the safari look hit stores in the early spring. This year we are seeing glimpses of it again, and for some reason I am taking a second glance at it. I do not want to become one of those people who say 'I cannot wear that color.' I want to always have the attitude that I will find the right shade that compliments me in every color! I will make it work somehow and you can too :-) We might have to put on a necklace to break the color up and away from our face a bit, and that is okay.  I love the way orange looks worn with navy or a dark khaki shade like she is wearing in the photo. The top in the photo to the left is from Talbots. It is from last spring, but I just found it on Talbots.com in the OUTLET section of their website. They are offering 50% off all of their online outlet merchandise right now!! I LOVE a bargain and I just know you do too. This top is offered in a rainbow of colors and it was only $14.99 (reg price was $79!) INCREDIBLE DEAL! This style top is great for my body type because I am smaller on top. If you are bustier, I would consider another style. Anyway, orange is my color of the moment. Think about a color that you think you cannot wear and just experiment. Remember, colors come in so many different hues. I know there is one for you out there!
This necklace is from Talbots also. It is not in the outlet :-(
It is $69 and it is GORGEOUS!

I am adoring this orange leather Cori tote bag by Kooba. I can almost feel how buttery soft it would be in person!

I love fun watches and this orange watch from Phillip Stein's 'Fruits' collection is perfect!

Anthropologie~ I always can find something beautiful there......

Fashion Is For Models. STYLE Is For Real Women.

The fashion world has always favored skinny models to show off the latest trends. But it's the real women who actually buy them. Why does this make sense? Well I guess when it comes right down to the brutal truth, people buy things that look good. And lets face it, clothes look better when they are smaller. It's kind of like when I go into a store to try on shoes and the one on display that I am attracted to is a size 6 or 7 and then the sales clerk brings out my size (9 or 9/2) and I'm like "That's not the same shoe, is it? The one on display looks different!" The clerk tells me that it is in fact the same shoe. Suddenly, I don't want to try it on anymore. So, I just want to tell all you ladies out there who are not a size 4 in a dress that I get it. But we can't let it bother us.  Fashion is everywhere and marketing is everywhere and the majority of it is big beautiful pictures of skinny people. Keep in mind, models in magazines have the b...

FALL for Flowers!

{Leifsdottir Alegrias tiered floral skirt} Totally unpredictable and completely cool. Flowers for fall are exactly what you need to take your "I miss summertime" blues away. There are no rules in fashion. It's just about achieving a look that is your best and that you feel good in. Who says plaid is the only print you can wear in the fall? Now, don't get me wrong. Plaid is one of my favorite patterns. So maybe we can mix them together! {See below} Flower patterns are fun and so glamorous during any season. Just make your floral skirts a little more fall like by wearing a pair of colorful tights! Can you say FLOWER POWER?! And we are going to need some major FLOWER POWER especially when the temperature begins to drastically drop. {Christopher Kane ~ garden leather mini skirt} {Carolina Herrera}

The Necessary Black T-Shirt

I have to admit, I have not been getting dressed up much these days. I think it has something to do with just wanted to be comfortable. I have been sewing a ton of masks at The Maine Square   and it just feels better to not be confined in my clothing as I am cutting fabric and sewing. However, I do have to go out of the studio occasionally. Mostly it's to the mailbox, but sometimes it's to get more supplies and of course food. I don't mean to sound pretentious or anything, but I do think about how I look even when going out to do these quick errands. It makes me feel good to look half decent! Lately I have been opting for a simple black tee shirt and a pair of semi faded jeans. All I need to do it pop on a camel colored blazer and some ballet flats and I am good to go! Oh yeah, and I ALWAYS wear a mask when entering a public facility these days. I think it's just common courtesy with all that is going on with the corona virus.  Here are some of my all-time favori...
