Baby it's HOT Outside!

I was going to write a blog about fur for fall today, but with the temps reaching the 90's this week I thought that might be a little bit ridiculous. So I decided to take these few days to help you figure out how to stay cool in this heat, yet stay somewhat reflective of fall. Meaning that maybe it's time to put away the light and bright summer colors and floral patterns and go with something in a warmer or deeper hue. Just make sure you keep your fabrics light. Like for instance these 100% cotton pant overalls by Raasta. Can you say super cool 70's chic?!  Available at YOOX.com

Inspirations Inside My Closet

Every month or so I post pictures from magazines and/or catalogs in my closet for inspiration. This month I have posted almost all Talbots photos from their September catalog! Believe it or not, Talbots has got some great looks going on. It's no longer your grandma's store. I also have some Kate Spade photos posted on the bottom half. I love all the colors and fun looks that Kate Spade always comes up with.

What Is Black and White and RED All Over? YOU!

{Red leather ruffled jacket~Valentino} When people think of the color red they automatically think POWER! At least that's what many surveys say. But I am here to tell you that as a stylist, I don't see nearly enough red in ladies wardrobes as there should be. I always see plenty of black and white though.....mostly black. What you all need to know is that red is the perfect color to make your black and white POP! And before you start thinking that red is not your color, please stop. There are a ton of different shades of red out there which means that there is one for you. You just might need to take the time to determine which one looks good on you, or you may have to hire a stylist such as myself ;) This handbag by Trussardi 1911 has just the perfect amount of red to make it more interesting than your average black bag. Don't get me wrong, a black bag is great. But this is just a tad more fun. The red patent leather boots on the right are by David Tate and the gorgeous...

My Top Five For Fall 2010

As a wardrobe stylist the #1 question I am asked is, what I am going to buy each season to spruce up my wardrobe? I used to make top 10 lists and even top 20 lists. But I am here to tell you that there are only so many days in a year and only so many pieces of clothing/accessories that you are going to be able to wear. Too much will confuse you and offset your already existing perfectly cool wardrobe.....assuming that you have one of these;) If not, you may have to buy more. I happen to need absolutely nothing, but I do love fashion, so buying nothing is never an option. I have learned to carefully narrow down what I am going to buy each season to five key pieces. Here are my top five for Fall 2010: { in no particular order} A camel coat is something I don't already have in my wardrobe. It is an item that I will wear for years to come so I will make sure to choose a very classic style. A pair of leather booties is a must!! I will wear these with many of fall looks. Now I hav...

My Favorite Fall Boots!

These boots by Vince Camuto rock! I love the way they give off that menswear/Little House On The Prairie/motorcycle/combat vibe. I can totally picture wearing them with a long maxi skirt or worn over my skinny jeans this fall. They also would look fabulous worn with a mini sweater dress and bare legs right now while the weather is still warm.  my fav fall boots! by LauraLy featuring Acne jeans Boucle Sleeveless Dress , $1,290 New York & Company - View All - The Bleecker Street Tiered Ruffle... , $40 Acne Kex low-rise skinny jeans , $230 L'Agence Crepe maxi skirt , $400 Product: Vince Camuto "Claras" Boot , $198 Product: Vince Camuto "Fantasa" Boot , $159

FALL for Fuchsia

When most of us think about clothes that we wear in the fall we automatically think warmer colors such as burnt oranges, browns, rusty reds, you get the picture. I say why not incorporate a cooler fall color such as fuchsia or a hot pink? I just love all the color that Nanette Lepore incorporated in her ready-to-wear fall 2010 collection. Click here  to view the entire collection. (when you get to her site you will want to click on the word collections at the bottom of the page and then click on Fall 2010 :)  Below you will find more of my fuchsia favorites for fall: Suede Ruche Bow Ankle Boot by   Bourne Cameron .  I have never been a big fan of the quilted jacket, but I absolutely could not pass this one up from Burberry. (above) The stitching and pleating are such feminine features and of course the Burberry plaid details really catch your eye and make you realize that this is just not any ordinary quilted jacket. And this Burberry check cotton button d...

What Do Cats and Lipstick Have in Common?

{Paul & Joe lipstick~ available at  b~glowing } Well, you've got me there. Cats have nothing in common with lipstick. But isn't this just about the most adorable work of art you have ever seen?! Although it seems like applying this lipstick could be a challenge, it seems worth every effort!

A Necessary Necessity~A Super Cool Denim Jacket

{Jean Paul Gaultier} Jean Paul took a Levi's denim jacket and make it his own. I LOVE this one because it really hugs you in all the right places. It really screams "I am female, hear me roar!" A denim jacket is something you will reach for day in and day out in your closet so it is important that you have one that you adore and love to put on. Of course any practical lady knows that you only need one super cool denim jacket, and this is probably true. I have five and two out of the five I find myself reaching for most days. In my opinion having options is good......when it's a denim jacket. You will utilize them with the many different looks that you create. Here are a few of my favorite styles... {Talbots} This Talbots denim jacket is a very basic and traditional style that everyone would be happy to own but don't mistake it for one that you would only wear with your khakis on your day off. Look how fantastic this model looks wearing it with a camel le...

Six Different Looks! One Little Green Skirt!

{Ponte Knit Straight Skirt from Talbots} One of my clients bought this cute little ponte knit straight skirt from Talbots in a gorgeous shade of green called topiary. She adored the color but she was a little skeptical about keeping it because she wasn't sure what she would wear with it. Here are six different looks that we came up with today!
