My Top 5 Designers/Looks from 2010!

 1~ The use of colortexture, patterns, and prints from the beloved and and beyond talented Alexander McQueen's Spring 2010 ready-to-wear collection. We miss him so very much.

 2~ This adorable asymmetrical dress by Chanel. She looks so pretty and whimsical. Almost fairy like. View the entire Chanel Spring 2010 ready-to-wear collection here.
{The artwork on the upper left is by Danny Roberts. I have this framed print right in my dining room. Can you find it in the photos below?}

3~ The entire collection from Chloé this fall 2010 really sent me over the edge. I LOVE this whole ready-to-wear collection with every bone in my body! I have always been a sucker for anything Chloé, especially when Pheobe Philo was in charge. And when Hannah MacGibbon took over as creative director in 2008, I knew I was in love again! To me, Hannah's first collection for spring 2009 was absolutely to die for, however it got bad reviews. I thought that was weird. I LOVED it! Here is a link to her Spring 2009 ready-to-wear collection. You be the judge. I sure am glad that Hannah is getting the recognition that she deserves now!

4~ The fabulous 50's styles from Louis Vuitton left me breathless! See the entire Louis Vuitton fall 2010 ready-to-wear collection right here. Caution: If you have a bad heart, then you must take a deep breath before viewing;) This collection may take you over the edge!

5~ Last but certainly not least was the Spring 2010 ready-to-wear collection from Chris Benz. This collection was just so colorful. You can't help but be happy and smile while wearing it!
So of course I just had to have the "Chris and Tell" lipstick that was created exclusively for Chris Benz by Lancome. I'm not gonna lie. It sure was hard to come by! Thank goodness for friends who are as passionate about fashion as I am. And you know who you are. (Dianna ;)

Fashion Is For Models. STYLE Is For Real Women.

The fashion world has always favored skinny models to show off the latest trends. But it's the real women who actually buy them. Why does this make sense? Well I guess when it comes right down to the brutal truth, people buy things that look good. And lets face it, clothes look better when they are smaller. It's kind of like when I go into a store to try on shoes and the one on display that I am attracted to is a size 6 or 7 and then the sales clerk brings out my size (9 or 9/2) and I'm like "That's not the same shoe, is it? The one on display looks different!" The clerk tells me that it is in fact the same shoe. Suddenly, I don't want to try it on anymore. So, I just want to tell all you ladies out there who are not a size 4 in a dress that I get it. But we can't let it bother us.  Fashion is everywhere and marketing is everywhere and the majority of it is big beautiful pictures of skinny people. Keep in mind, models in magazines have the b...

FALL for Flowers!

{Leifsdottir Alegrias tiered floral skirt} Totally unpredictable and completely cool. Flowers for fall are exactly what you need to take your "I miss summertime" blues away. There are no rules in fashion. It's just about achieving a look that is your best and that you feel good in. Who says plaid is the only print you can wear in the fall? Now, don't get me wrong. Plaid is one of my favorite patterns. So maybe we can mix them together! {See below} Flower patterns are fun and so glamorous during any season. Just make your floral skirts a little more fall like by wearing a pair of colorful tights! Can you say FLOWER POWER?! And we are going to need some major FLOWER POWER especially when the temperature begins to drastically drop. {Christopher Kane ~ garden leather mini skirt} {Carolina Herrera}

The Necessary Black T-Shirt

I have to admit, I have not been getting dressed up much these days. I think it has something to do with just wanted to be comfortable. I have been sewing a ton of masks at The Maine Square   and it just feels better to not be confined in my clothing as I am cutting fabric and sewing. However, I do have to go out of the studio occasionally. Mostly it's to the mailbox, but sometimes it's to get more supplies and of course food. I don't mean to sound pretentious or anything, but I do think about how I look even when going out to do these quick errands. It makes me feel good to look half decent! Lately I have been opting for a simple black tee shirt and a pair of semi faded jeans. All I need to do it pop on a camel colored blazer and some ballet flats and I am good to go! Oh yeah, and I ALWAYS wear a mask when entering a public facility these days. I think it's just common courtesy with all that is going on with the corona virus.  Here are some of my all-time favori...
