Be A MODERN Mom.....Not A "Moldy" Mom

Okay, so this may not be what you look like holding your baby. It might be a little difficult for a stay at home mom to even fathom wearing 4 inch heels around the house while she runs after the kids, cooks, cleans and tackles the many varieties of duties that a stay at home mom does. Trust me, a stay at home mom IS a job......and it's not an easy one. You are so busy caring for everyone and everything else that sometimes you forget about you. Let's face it, you most always leave yourself for last. But what you might not know is that the way you take care of your family and your home may be affected by the way you take care of yourself. It is a proven fact that we all feel better when we look better, hence the reason why I beauty up every day, even if I am working at home. I am more productive and less lazy. And my mood is uplifted by knowing that if someone did stop by I wouldn't have a problem with it. Below are some of my tips for practical moms to look fashionable:  C...

These Boots Were Make For Walking Through A Foot Of Snow!

Hunter makes the most fashionable practical boots for the harsh weather we have been having this winter. You will rarely see the words fashionable and practical used together in the same sentence because, well, they just don't work. But I feel that Hunter has done a great job at trying to make these boots work. They wouldn't even look half bad if you happen to forget your change of shoes. These boots by Hunter are not the warmest things so you wouldn't want to shovel your driveway in these, but they do have a great quick dry mesh lining and they are waterproof. They would be really perfect for the wet slushy weather that we will hopefully  be getting soon when all this crazy snow melts! These are also quite stunning for a weatherproof boot. Also by Hunter .   These are the more traditional Hunter wellies that we are more familiar with. They make a fabulous fleece lining that will fit into any of your hunter welly boots. These will make your boots a lot warm...

"Matchy Matchy" GET OVER IT!

One thing that drives me nuts is when ladies feel like they have to match from head to toe. This is a very dated look and will actually make you look OLD. Never a good thing.  YIKES! A s beautiful as Victoria Beckham is, even she can't get away with making the "matchy matchy" look good. She looks very Eastery and very PINK .  Look at how much more beautiful she looks in this photo. So soft and feminine. Yes she is wearing black, but the gold shoes make this look POP and add a huge amount of interest. Not to mention how much prettier she looks with her soft flowing waves vs. the sharp inverted bob she used to sport. Her more natural hair color also warms up her skin tone. She looks her age in this photo. In the photo above she looks like she is trying to stay young. We all want to look good. But sometimes ladies confuse looking good with looking young. It just doesn't work. And the "matchy, matchy" thing......that just says "I am OLD ." This ...

Lovely Lips for Spring 2011!

When choosing your lip color, what makes your decision on what shade you actually put on? For many ladies it's about what they are wearing. They try to match to their clothes, and I am here to tell you that matching your lips to your shirt is a little bit dated. In fact, when was this actually the trend??? If you know this information please share. Who ever came up with it probably HATES women. Anyway, when choosing your shade you do want to create a nice contrast that compliments your clothes, but most importantly, you want to compliment your skin tone. And if you are wearing clothes that make the best you shine through, then you should choose a lip color that will do the same. Personally I LOVE the lips of now.  Below you will find some of the best lip colors from Fendi and Diane von Furstenberg that were worn on this spring's 2011 runways. Notice how gorgeous the bright lips compliment the new spring neutrals. Such a fresh new look. I love make-up because it allows us...

TREND ALERT: HIGH WAISTED JEANS

{Gap wide leg trouser jeans}  Just when you thought you had the low rise and the skinny jean look down pat, here is another curve ball that fashion has once again thrown at you! High waisted wide leg jeans are back!! Now wait a minute, I am not telling you to get your "mom" jeans back out. We all know that when trends return there is always a new twist. The jeans of now are yes, high waisted, but not to the extreme. They will be higher than you are accustomed to if you were just getting used to the low rise style. But they will not, in most circumstances, actually sit on your high waist. They will just sit comfortably at the waist area instead of below it. {These jeans are from Forever 21. You will see that they sit at the waist, but the legs are more of a boot cut. A fit that will flatter most body types}  I must admit that I am super excited to see exactly how long it takes for the young ladies of this land to catch on to this trend. It seems that it took no time at a...
