Flowers Make Me HAPPY!

Last week I noticed that my geranium was beginning to bloom in my sunny dining room window. A sudden burst of happiness came over me!What is it about flowers that make us feel so good? I think it has something to do with the gorgeous colors they are born with, don't you?  I know most people think it is a bit too soon to begin wearing flower prints. But why? I say wear flowers in the middle of winter if it makes you feel good! I did wear black tights with this floral skirt, but believe it or not, my first thought was NOT to make this look seem a little more winter like. I just liked the contrast of the black tights with the brights! All of my recent dreams of flowers led me to design these "Fleur Rouge" earrings from Laura's Style Boutique . They are the first design from my "Fleur" collection for spring 2011. I will soon begin to carry this floral tote from Talbots. What is stopping me from carrying it right now, you ask? Well, it really isn't big enoug...

Houndstooth ~ It Will NEVER Go Out Of Style!

  This gorgeous model is wearing a houndstooth suit and bowler hat by Chanel, 1969, London. I would totally wear this today! This is an exceptional example of timeless  elegance !    I was very inspired to wear my houndstooth blazer today by another fashion blog that I read on a regular basis.  Trends for the Masses (TFTM.)  You may or may not have heard of it. Either way, you should check it out. Very inspiring. Especially if you are at a loss on "what to wear." I also dug out my "spring" bag. I am rebelling against this winter weather we are still having in the northeast! (Yes, it is still snowing here. We just got an additional 6 inches or more today! I have lost all of my faith in Mr. Groundhog!) I always try to match my coffee mug to my look. Don't you?!  (Just kidding. I really don't do this. But today I really found it interesting how cool my black cat mug looked next to my jacket!)  This is R&B artist Monica wearing th...

The Runaways {These girls didn't have it easy, however they sure kicked butt with their music!}

{Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie from The Runaways} Talk about being in the right place at the right time!!! These girls had a dream and it was all in the cards for them. What a crazy time to be in an all girl band! The late 1970's. WILD times. Not that now isn't. You know what I'm talking about. Life was different back then. Some of the best music was produced and will never be replicated. But now it seems like everyone is trying to replicate everyone else. Thats why I like fashion so much. Fashion lets us be our own unique rock star selves, without the drugs, which we can all do without. Fashion is our drug! This Diane von Furstenberg Syrah Blouse is oh soooo Cherie!  Don't you think Cherie would have worn this fabulous Mod Squad Kylie skirt by Kate Spade and these Three-Tone Platforms from Marc by Marc Jacobs??   Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie and Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett I am loving her make-up. And her scarf! Really rock star pretty. The REAL Cherie Curr...

Spring 2011 Handbag Trends ~ (You know you want one ;)

  {See by Chloe} crossbody  Crossbody bags are totally trendy for Spring 2011! Finally a trend that is practical too! I have always loved cross body bags. They make life a heck of a lot easier for those of us who like to have our hands free when we are doing things like SHOPPING! Not that I have been doing a lot of that lately. None of the fun kind anyway. The only kind of heavy duty shopping I have been doing has been at the grocery store. A girl can dream though, right? Well these are the crossbody bags that I am dreaming about: {see the photos above and below} {Lanvin} crossbody I am also seeing a huge trend in neutral handle bags. I love these babies. {Valentino} neutral {Miu Miu} neutral   {Nancy Gonzalez} neutral {Chloe} neutral {Talbots} neutral This neutral bag is really cute and a little more affordable than the others. It sort of reminds me of a Valentino bag, hence the bow. {Diane von Furstenberg} metallic Metallic bags are also en vogue at the momen...

What you NEED for SPRING!

I always hate it when someone asks me "If there is only one thing you could have this spring, what would it be?" That is like buying a big bag of chips and eating just one!! It is such a difficult question to answer for any season. I most always answer the question with a very vague answer. And as for spring 2011, my answer is just as vague as ever. Anything in a bright but light color will be my must have this season. Does everyone know what I mean by that?  See my examples below: {a look from Chris Benz spring 2011 ready-to-wear collection} I just purchased this Ceramide Plump Perfect lipstick in Flamingo by Elizabeth Arden today. I was on the hunt for the perfect pink. Yes it is bright, but it is light and almost neon. Can't wait to try it out! I really wanted a color like this model is wearing in the photos below. I think I found it :) I knew this was "THE ONE" when I saw this Lanvin denim flowered tote. Magnificent!  I am absolutely DYING over this...
