What you NEED for SPRING!

I always hate it when someone asks me "If there is only one thing you could have this spring, what would it be?" That is like buying a big bag of chips and eating just one!! It is such a difficult question to answer for any season. I most always answer the question with a very vague answer. And as for spring 2011, my answer is just as vague as ever. Anything in a bright but light color will be my must have this season. Does everyone know what I mean by that?

See my examples below:
{a look from Chris Benz spring 2011 ready-to-wear collection}

I just purchased this Ceramide Plump Perfect lipstick in Flamingo by Elizabeth Arden today. I was on the hunt for the perfect pink. Yes it is bright, but it is light and almost neon. Can't wait to try it out! I really wanted a color like this model is wearing in the photos below. I think I found it :)

I knew this was "THE ONE" when I saw this Lanvin denim flowered tote. Magnificent!

I am absolutely DYING over this bubble back tee shirt blouse by Jil Sander! Isn't it AMAZING?!

These looks from Jil Sander for spring 2011 make me feel so happy. I have a feeling that it has something to do with the COLORS.

 I just picked up this Revlon nail polish in "posh pink" today. It truly is the most perfect pink!

This Stuart Weitzman ballet flat would look so cool with my black ankle jeans!

This pink satin suit by Marc Jacobs just might be the one thing I would have to own for spring 2011.........if I could, I would.

Fashion Is For Models. STYLE Is For Real Women.

The fashion world has always favored skinny models to show off the latest trends. But it's the real women who actually buy them. Why does this make sense? Well I guess when it comes right down to the brutal truth, people buy things that look good. And lets face it, clothes look better when they are smaller. It's kind of like when I go into a store to try on shoes and the one on display that I am attracted to is a size 6 or 7 and then the sales clerk brings out my size (9 or 9/2) and I'm like "That's not the same shoe, is it? The one on display looks different!" The clerk tells me that it is in fact the same shoe. Suddenly, I don't want to try it on anymore. So, I just want to tell all you ladies out there who are not a size 4 in a dress that I get it. But we can't let it bother us.  Fashion is everywhere and marketing is everywhere and the majority of it is big beautiful pictures of skinny people. Keep in mind, models in magazines have the b...

FALL for Flowers!

{Leifsdottir Alegrias tiered floral skirt} Totally unpredictable and completely cool. Flowers for fall are exactly what you need to take your "I miss summertime" blues away. There are no rules in fashion. It's just about achieving a look that is your best and that you feel good in. Who says plaid is the only print you can wear in the fall? Now, don't get me wrong. Plaid is one of my favorite patterns. So maybe we can mix them together! {See below} Flower patterns are fun and so glamorous during any season. Just make your floral skirts a little more fall like by wearing a pair of colorful tights! Can you say FLOWER POWER?! And we are going to need some major FLOWER POWER especially when the temperature begins to drastically drop. {Christopher Kane ~ garden leather mini skirt} {Carolina Herrera}

The Necessary Black T-Shirt

I have to admit, I have not been getting dressed up much these days. I think it has something to do with just wanted to be comfortable. I have been sewing a ton of masks at The Maine Square   and it just feels better to not be confined in my clothing as I am cutting fabric and sewing. However, I do have to go out of the studio occasionally. Mostly it's to the mailbox, but sometimes it's to get more supplies and of course food. I don't mean to sound pretentious or anything, but I do think about how I look even when going out to do these quick errands. It makes me feel good to look half decent! Lately I have been opting for a simple black tee shirt and a pair of semi faded jeans. All I need to do it pop on a camel colored blazer and some ballet flats and I am good to go! Oh yeah, and I ALWAYS wear a mask when entering a public facility these days. I think it's just common courtesy with all that is going on with the corona virus.  Here are some of my all-time favori...
