I have so many mixed emotions about being a 52-year-old college student. It feels amazing to take the opportunity to go back to school and focus on my passion; however, starting a new career path in midlife is really scary. I often feel very awkward being one of the very few older students in my class. However, I would rather walk into class feeling a bit uncomfortable than stay comfortable in my box. I understand that the discomfort is worth it and is also inevitably the only way change will happen–and after about 35 years of working in a retail environment, I'm ready for a change. Let me start by saying I would not trade any of my past career experiences for anything in the world. T here is nothing quite like the college of life . Laura makes a conscious effort to navigate her way through life with hope in the place of fear. She is a stargazer, her head in the clouds on her best days.
