DRESS Me up!

These models might be straight faced, but they are totally in sync. They look so sassy and sophisticated in these dresses!!! This ad sucked me in as a consumer. The muted tones of the room they are in combined with the bright saturated colors they are wearing are very appealing. Also the styling is just fabulous. A little 70's vibe is going on here. LOVE IT! This dress that fashion stylist Mary Alice Stephenson is wearing reminds me of the ad above. It is just so GLAMOROUS! And who knew that it actually comes from TALBOTS! This is a dress that is worthy of hanging in your closet. It should be your go to GLAM dress! Everybody needs one ;) Dresses are HOT for fall and they are just so easy because they are just one thing that you need to put on your body! Get out there and find YOUR perfect dress! You will be glad you did. And give me a yell if you need a little help ;)

Match Your RED Lips to Your RED Nails for Fall

This fall don't be afraid to match your lips to your nails. You can't get any more chic than that! I am super excited for this look because it is just so pretty and girly. Red is the color that I used to decorate my lips when I was a little girl. It was the first color in my sister's make up case that I would reach for. I think the reason for this is because red is the color that makes you look drastically different. It is like night and day. Red is also a color that makes you feel confident. And who doesn't want to feel confident?! So, what are you waiting for? Get your RED ON!! Dior nail color in Trafalgar and Dior lipstick in Ara Red just happen to be my favorite red shades. I love them because they are bright. I am not quite ready for the deep reds that I usually sport during the heart of the fall/winter. That will come later.......

Embrace a Bad Hair Day the Audrey Way!

Here in Maine we are getting lucky. We will get some high winds and a lot of rain today, but hurricane Irene has weakened so greatly that the Weather Channel has downgraded her to a tropical storm, which can still be bad, but it's nothing we haven't experience here in the northeast before. So I say, during this tropical storm we are calling Irene, embrace this bad hair day the Audrey way! Carry a cool umbrella.(just watch out for the wind) Wear a chic trench. Pop on a mod kerchief.(that might be better than the umbrella idea) Or just let it rain down and make your wet hair be part of your look! When you love fashion you can't let mother nature get you down. You know what they say, when you can't beat 'em, join 'em!  Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard in Breakfast at Tiffany's find their love for each other during a down poor. How romantic!  Leighton Meester celebrates the rain in a classic trench! If you don't own one, then I strongly suggest yo...

Happy Birthday Gabrielle Bonheur "Coco" Chanel!!

Today is not only my mother's birthday, (Happy Birthday Mom!) it is also the day that  Gabrielle Bonheur  Chanel,  better known as Coco Chanel,   would have turned 128 years old! We can thank her for bringing modernity into the fashion world with her menswear inspired designs as well inventing her own personal fragrances. In honor of the French designer's birthday Chanel has updated the original Chanel No.19 perfume which consisted of  iris, neroli, vetiver, and cedarwood No. 19   by  adding notes of mandarin orange, jasmine absolute, white musk, and tonka bean . Chanel  No.  19  Poudré went on sale this morning at  Saks Fifth Avenue !

MEEEOOOWWW! The Cat Came Back!

Animal prints are one of the most misunderstood trends of all time. Some people LOVE them because of their provocativeness. Others feel that animal prints are waaaay too sexy for them to even think about, let alone actually wearing it on their body. Well, I am here to tell you that animal prints are just as sexy and chic as wearing black and as you probably know, black is a color that we feel very comfortable wearing. Sometimes maybe too comfortable. Some of us own waaaaay too much black. (and you know who you are ;) It is nothing to be ashamed of! But I am here to tell you that just because you wear an animal print doesn't mean you are a floozy, unless you wear it like a floozy! Wear it in small doses if you are skeptical. All you really need is an animal print accessory. An animal print belt, handbag or shoe will do. Trust me. A little goes a long way! If you opt for an animal print in an article of clothing such as a dress, skirt or blouse, then just make sure your overa...

The Skinny on Jeans

You can never have to many pairs of jeans these days! Take them from day into night. Dress them up or dress them down. There is a style and a fit for every figure! As a fashion stylist people are always asking me what type of jeans are on trend right now. I always respond, "Whatever style looks the best on your body!" See below to view the fits and figure out which one is for you! A recent jean trend that in my opinion has lasted just a little too long is the skinny jean. This style is most definitely not a  friend to all figures, but somehow everyone began to wear it weather it was flattering or not. I think the biggest challenge is HOW to wear the skinny jean. If you are slim with a boyish figure like the model above, you can't go wrong with this style! If you have a more curvy figure, then the look must be balanced with a tunic style top (meaning a top that comes just slightly down over your hip bone.) A boyfriend style blazer or cardigan also looks fabulous wit...

The Necessary Denim Shirt

{I love the clean look and the geometric lines in this denim blouse by Celine. She looks retro and modern at the same time! And notice that she is wearing denim with denim! There was a time that wearing denim with denim was a no no. Not anymore! You just have to know how to style it.} The denim shirt can often be misunderstood. We usually think of wearing a denim shirt on our day off with chinos, which is also fine, but it has so much more potential! I believe that every lady should own at least one denim shirt. In fact I just added it to my list of "wardrobe essentials." It can be worn so many different ways. I have been known to wear my denim shirt with a sequin skirt! Here are four important features to look for in a denim shirt: #1. fit (Is the shirt fitted without being tight? You want to create a nice flattering line for yourself. Some denim shirts can look great over sized when worn with leggings, but you still want a nice overall shape.)...
