Happy Birthday Gabrielle Bonheur "Coco" Chanel!!


Today is not only my mother's birthday, (Happy Birthday Mom!) it is also the day that Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, better known as Coco Chanel,  would have turned 128 years old! We can thank her for bringing modernity into the fashion world with her menswear inspired designs as well inventing her own personal fragrances. In honor of the French designer's birthday Chanel has updated the original Chanel No.19 perfume which consisted of iris, neroli, vetiver, and cedarwood No. 19  by adding notes of mandarin orange, jasmine absolute, white musk, and tonka bean. Chanel No. 19 Poudré went on sale this morning at Saks Fifth Avenue!

The fashion world has always favored skinny models to show off the latest trends. But it's the real women who actually buy them. Why does this make sense? Well I guess when it comes right down to the brutal truth, people buy things that look good. And lets face it, clothes look better when they are smaller. FALL for Flowers!

The Necessary Black T-Shirt

I have to admit, I have not been getting dressed up much these days. I think it has something to do with just wanted to be comfortable. I have been sewing a ton of masks at The Maine Square   and it just feels better to not be confined in my clothing as I am cutting fabric and sewing. However, I do have to go out of the studio occasionally. Mostly it's to the mailbox, but sometimes it's to get more supplies and of course food. I don't mean to sound pretentious or anything, but I do think about how I look even when going out to do these quick errands. It makes me feel good to look half decent! Lately I have been opting for a simple black tee shirt and a pair of semi faded jeans. All I need to do it pop on a camel colored blazer and some ballet flats and I am good to go! Oh yeah, and I ALWAYS wear a mask when entering a public facility these days.
