Organizing The Jewelry Box



The weather was dreary in Maine this past Sunday. We actually saw some snow flurries! I'm acting like I'm surprised by that, but I'm really not. It's actually typical to see some white stuff in Maine at this time of year. There's just something cool about snow when it happens in November. It kind of puts you in the holiday spirit! All I could hear in my head were the lyric's of "Snow" being sung from one of my favorite holiday movies, "White Christmas."

I figured that it was the perfect day to organize the jewelry box. I started out kind of frustrated. I just have way too much. I think it's time to start getting rid of it. Each time I purchase something I will  be getting rid of something from here on in.

I actually ended up being very happy with how my necklace display turned out. I simply tacked them up on my closet wall. This way, I will be able to see my gorgeous statement jewels as I am getting dressed. Who knows, they may inspire a whole new look!
I kept my fine jewelry inside my armoire. I can see them all really well now that I got rid of all the chunky statement necklaces that used to hide them.
I decided to display my pearls on my bust form. This will work better for me than keeping them in a drawer because I can see them. 

My earrings still continue to be a mess, but that will be a different day...... Stay tuned!

The fashion world has always favored skinny models to show off the latest trends. But it's the real women who actually buy them. Why does this make sense? Well I guess when it comes right down to the brutal truth, people buy things that look good. And lets face it, clothes look better when they are smaller. FALL for Flowers!

{Leifsdottir Alegrias tiered floral skirt} Totally unpredictable and completely cool. Flowers for fall are exactly what you need to take your "I miss summertime" blues away. There are no rules in fashion. It's just about achieving a look that is your best and that you feel good in. Who says plaid is the only print you can wear in the fall? Now, don't get me wrong. The Necessary Black T-Shirt

I have to admit, I have not been getting dressed up much these days. I think it has something to do with just wanted to be comfortable. I have been sewing a ton of masks at The Maine Square   and it just feels better to not be confined in my clothing as I am cutting fabric and sewing. However, I do have to go out of the studio occasionally. Mostly it's to the mailbox, but sometimes it's to get more supplies and of course food. I don't mean to sound pretentious or anything, but I do think about how I look even when going out to do these quick errands. It makes me feel good to look half decent! Lately I have been opting for a simple black tee shirt and a pair of semi faded jeans. All I need to do it pop on a camel colored blazer and some ballet flats and I am good to go! Oh yeah, and I ALWAYS wear a mask when entering a public facility these days.
