Rockin' The Polka Dot

There is just something about polka dots. When you look at them you get a feeling of pure joy and happiness! In a bad mood? Here is a simple fix. Just rock the polka dot and instantly your mood will be elevated into pure joy! Don't believe me? Just try it sometime. You'll see. I am going gaga over this  Marni  bag and these  Nicholas Kirkwood sandals. I can't afford either one of them, but I can dream! This reversible polka dot belt by Liz Claiborne is super cool and very versatile. Perfect for the practical polka dot lover :) You've gotta love these polka dot vintage Levis 501 jeans by  House of Holland for LuLu & Co . These would be really cool worn with a very simple fitted black tee and some flat strappy sandals.  {See below} Strappy black sandals by Matt Bernson . Black fitted v neck tee from Gap . I ADORE this reversible polka dot blouse by Haute Hippie . It's so flow-y and pretty and you can wear ...

Where Do Fashionista's Shop? At GW Of Course.

Today I had a sudden urge to SHOP. Maybe it was the sun, or maybe it was the ultra bright full moon last night. I'm not really sure. But when the mood comes over me, no one and nothing can hold me back. Well, just one thing can. Lack of funds. So what does this fashionista do when she feels the need to have something new? Why she shops at GW of course. Otherwise known as GoodWill. You know the place. Have you ever been? Come on, don't be shy. It's okay. It's actually much cooler to buy second hand these days than it ever has been! They key to successful second hand shopping is to be as picky as you would if you were buying full price. Don't just buy it because it's cheap. Buy it because it will go with at least five different things in your closet. I also keep in mind designer styles when I am shopping second hand. I envision myself in Saks as I scavenge through the racks. Here is what I came up with today. All this for under $40! Yeah, I'm good.....;) ...

A Little Inspiration From India!

{The Taj Mahal. Located in Agra, India} Yesterday I actually took a sick day. My first one in I don't even remember how long. (It's just a cold, don't worry;) Not much holds this fashionista down. I had managed to escape the many sicknesses that were going around this past winter. I guess I had to catch something at some point. I was beginning to think I was wonder woman or something! Not quite. So anyway, I decided to watch a movie that I had been meaning to watch for some time now. You might be familiar with it. Slumdog Millionaire. It is a great movie that I waited too long to see.  Of course this movie was filled with so much drama and enlightenment that I pretty much could not stop thinking about it all day and all night. I have always been inspired by other countries. India happens to be a country that has always fascinated me. When I was young I had a pen pal who lived in India. Her name was Lekshmi. Yes, I even remember her name. Proof that whe...

You NAILED IT!!! Laura's Style's Favorite Nails Of This Very Moment

Every once in a while I let you know my favorite nail colors of the moment. This is another one of those moments. Keep reading...... {OPI colors: Care to Danse?, Don't Touch My Tutu!, Barre My Soul, My Pointe Exactly, You Callin' Me a Lyre?, Pirouette My Whistle} Okay, so for obvious reasons the NYC Ballet nail colors are my #1 favorite colors for spring and summer of 2012. (You know I am a dancer, right?) The colors are just so soft and pretty and look good with a tan or in my case even when you are pearly white. They are also perfect for summer brides and bridesmaids. Subtle and soft. Cool and confident. That is the goal here ladies. Wear these shades on and fingers and toes all season long and you will look super chic, but it will appear that you didn't even try to look that way. Plus, these neutral shades will look fabulous with all the bright colors that you will be wearing this summer and you won't have to worry about clashing or looking overly colorful....

Cute & Comfy! Who'd a Thunk??!!

Do cute and comfy shoes exist? This question always seems to remain unanswered. I am going to be very truthful and tell you yes. Cute and comfy shoes do exist. How about sexy and comfy shoes? I am going to tell you no. I have never met a sexy shoe that I could actually wear while walking around at work for 8-10 hours a day. You know what I mean by sexy don't you? I am talking like 4 inch or higher heel, strappy, open toe, etc. So, lets settle for cute and comfy and be done with it. Save the sexy stilettos for ummmm...... never. Except for where you can sit down a lot. Like every 20 minutes. Stand for 20, sit for 30. You got it :) And now I am going to show you my favorite spring shoes that you can go anywhere and do anything in. You can stand, walk and in my case, because I can't help it, practically run everywhere, look cool and be super productive all day long!  These "Ibis" oxfords by Born are my latest and greatest. I call them my jazz shoes. I could liter...
