Laura's Lovely Look ~ Proving The Print (Animal) Again!

I must be on an animal print craze this week. I just can't stop! Well, maybe enough is enough. I just want to prove to you that animal prints can look classy. They can also look trashy. So be careful out there. Don't get too  wild . No colored animal print please.  Lime green ,  pink ,  purple  etc. animal prints, I just can't like, and they defeat the neutral quality that I love best about them!  Are you wearing animal prints this week? If so, how are you wearing them? What I wore : ~ velvet jacket, tweed skirt, animal print cashmere tank and brown tights all from TALBOTS ~ earrings from Laura's Style Boutique ~ brown microfiber boots by Cole Haan ~ vintage bracelet and cameo ring

My Must Haves of the Moment!

Must Haves of the Moment! by lauraly featuring j crew shoes                                 I know, it's weird, but I am coveting semi casual stuff right now. Maybe it's the time of year where I just want to be comfortable and warm. Or maybe I am having a flashback of my life growing up in the 80's where I think I actually wore some of these items. Either way, here is what I am obsessed with right now. Santa, I've been a good girl this year. 1. the varsity jacket 2. Ray-Ban sunglasses 3. Swatch watch 4. embellished jeans   5. red lipstick 6. Coco Chanel 7. New Balance sneakers

Laura's Lovely Look ~ Animal Prints Are A Neutral

The photo above is on my bulletin board right now. You remember bulletin boards don't you? They were the real deal before the virtual pinning on Pinterest  began. Anyway, call me old school, but I still love cutting pictures out of magazines that inspire me and tacking them up. The picture above is from a JCrew style guide that I received earlier this fall. I loved how she was wearing this textured sweater with the animal print belt. She is really proving that animal print is a neutral. You can absolutely wear it with anything. I decided to experiment with wearing my navy textured floral skirt and pairing it with my own animal print belt. In my world, it works! What do you think? What I wore : ~ cashmere sweater, navy textured floral skirt, animal print belt, blue dot earrings and owl pendant all from TALBOTS ~ Donald J. Pliner Couture gold sequin ballet flats ~ nude textured tights from JCPenny

Organizing The Jewelry Box

The weather was dreary in Maine this past Sunday. We actually saw some snow flurries! I'm acting like I'm surprised by that, but I'm really not. It's actually typical to see some white stuff in Maine at this time of year. There's just something cool about snow when it happens in November. It kind of puts you in the holiday spirit! All I could hear in my head were the lyric's of "Snow" being sung from one of my favorite holiday movies, "White Christmas."  {Click the photo above to play video} I figured that it was the perfect day to organize the jewelry box. I started out kind of frustrated. I just have way too much. I think it's time to start getting rid of it. Each time I purchase something I will  be getting rid of something from here on in.  {Click the photo above to play video} I actually ended up being very happy with how my necklace display turned out. I simply tacked them up on my closet wall. This way,...

Laura's Lovely Look ~ In Honor Of Our Heroes

Today is Veterans Day November 11th, 2013. I feel truly blessed to have been born in the glorious USA. Many have died and sacrificed so much so that we (Americans) can be safe in our tiny worlds that we live in. Our lives can get so busy and we can get so self centered and greedy. We must take a moment each day and pray, meditate, whatever works for you. And in our prayers must be thoughts that keep others and ourselves strong. We must pray to be kind and generous. And we must pray for our self-centered thoughts to end. We are all here to help each other and to be kind. Our Veterans have made it possible for those thoughts and prayers to become real. We have the ability to do anything we put our minds to here in the USA because the Veterans have made it possible. I greatly appreciate those who have protected my friends, my family and I throughout our lives. And those who have a dream of serving this country, you are an extremely special species. KINDNESS & GENEROSITY ...

The Best Concealer In The World!

Sephora is my favorite place to shop for make-up and beauty supplies. They are always so helpful and genuine AND they give me free samples of basically anything I want! I recently have become obsessed with this eye brightener by Bare Minerals . I call it my Wonder Woman concealer because I feel as though I can perform all of my Wonder Woman duties and still look like I am refreshed and ready to go!  What I like about it : 1.) It is the perfect color. I purchased Luminous 2 for my light skin color. You may need a different shade so I recommend going into Sephora and asking them for a couple of samples.  2.) It is smoooooooth AND it doesn't settle into any of my smile lines. (FYI: I never call them wrinkles) 3.) The applicator is a little soft sponge, NOT a little brush that can get all messy. 4.) You don't need much. Just make five small dots under they eye and blend with your favorite foundation. (I put a little foundation on first and then blend this e...
