What Did You Wear to SATC2???

Some of you might think I am crazy for putting a few months of thought into my outfit that I was going to wear to Sex and the City 2. Some of you might kind of understand. And some of you, are just like me. I started thinking about it 3 months ago. I knew that I wanted it to be fun and colorful. Then I came across this gorgeous watercolor print silk top by Tory Burch at Neiman Marcus. I knew this was the one!  Now what was I to put with it? I didn't want to wear blue jeans, yet I didn't want to be overly dressed. (I usually am considered overly dressed for this state of Maine that I live in, but I don't mind;-) I finally decided on a pair of white cropped skinny jeans from Gap. I rolled them a bit as to show off my Stewart Weitzman shimmering espadrilles, which in my mind are very Carrie. The faded light wash of my denim blazer also from Gap, was the perfect contrast to not overpower the outfit. A denim any darker just wouldn't have worked. Finally I decided to carry ...

My New Discovery~CHRISSIE MORRIS

While searching the net one ordinary evening I happened to come across a fellow stylist who actually has my dream job (Mary Alice Stephenson who is a fashion editor, TV host, stylist, fashion commentator, and is one of the worlds most sought after beauty experts:-) who was talking about shoe designer Chrissie Morris as being the next stiletto IT girl. My face lit up with this new discovery! That is just one reason why I ADORE fashion so much. Because just when you begin to get bored with what is going on in fashion right now, something new pops up and everything is fabulous again!

Summertime Straw

Summer time brings tank tops, flip flops, shorts, and bikinis. If these are a few things that you long to wear but your lifestyle just doesn't allow it, (like mine) then carry one of these straw bags to give your outfits that summertime feel! Below is a great 'Summertime at the Office' look. Notice that the shoes are metallic which is a great neutral alternative for summer instead of beige or tan. They also keep the outfit looking light. The straw bag and the navy blazer I chose gives it a bit of a nautical feel. The outfit still says summer without looking too beachy. What do you think? Summertime at the Office by LauraLy featuring MAXX New York bags I found this work of art by Laetitia at Barneys. This bag is a bit of a luxury with a price tag of $850. But I just had to put it on here for you to gaze at ;-) This 'Miss Daisy' straw bag by Brighton is also a luxury but at least it's a semi affordable one at $170. It is just so pretty! Fendi...

Cowgirl vs Pocahontas~Which One is You???

I just love these two looks for the hot summer days! In the above photo you might have noticed that it is Penelope Cruise modeling both of these looks. Which one is more you? For me it is hard to decide. It is so much fun playing dress up. Why not be a Cowgirl one day and Pocahontas the next?! As you can see, both looks have been modified so they are wearable. You won't look like you have a costume on. You will just look pretty!  Try a tousled do with a little braided headband around your forehead. You can find headbands like this a Target. This is a recent look that I spotted the fashionable gals on The Hills wearing. It is tres LA! I have always been partial to feather earrings. These ones by Elizabeth and James are so delicate.  Stella McCartney <3 LOVE!! Fringe bag by HYPE.  Very affordable moccasin boots by Minnetonka $87.99

What exactly is Timeless Style??

Timeless Style.   We all have heard of ladies who have this trait. What does it mean exactly? I believe that if you look back at a photo of yourself 20 years ago and you can say to yourself, "I would wear that today" then that means that you have timeless style. Here are a few photos of ladies that could walk into any era and fit right in. These ladies have Timeless Style. This is Audrey Hepburn through the years. Look how fabulous she looks throughout her whole life! Not every ones style is timeless and not everyone is ashamed of this. It IS okay to embrace a trend. But you don't want to embrace a trend if it doesn't flatter your body. I say forget the trends and embrace what looks good on you. You can always grab a great on trend accessory to update your look. It is mostly your hairstyle and make up that actually give you your style believe it or not. If you look like you just rolled out of bed you might as well just keep your jammies on! You will totally break y...

My New Buddy! (so to speak;-)

{Anna Sui} As you may already know, I am loving the color YELLOW this spring. I have purchased a little yellow myself including a pair of cropped skinny leg pique pants which I may just have to wear today with my little gray jacket:-) I recently became friends with Anna Sui on Facebook (She accepted my friend request!! Okay, so she also has like over 1,000 friends most of whom she has never met I'm sure , but still!!! I am excited, not to mention truly honored..............So I of course wanted to write a short blog based on her and one of her many designs. This particular dress is something I came across on  The Outnet.com . As you can see, it's yellow and I am in love with it! I was thinking about how perfect and different this would be to wear to a summer wedding.  And you know me, I always have to be a little different. Life is more fun that way!!! I also know me and I know that I would be a little chilly at times wearing something like this in Maine, so I did a Google ...

Everything's Coming Up Roses!

This dress that Sarah Jessica is wearing is so lovely and so feminine. See the photo below for a very similar vintage dress that I found on ETSY  I know I am a bit obsessed with roses right now. Last week I had posted a blog titled 'Rosette Accents Give That Feminine Touch.' Well there is a slight difference between roses and rosettes. Roses are larger in size and seem to open up to a fuller flower while rosettes are more petite. Both are just as beautiful and create happiness when worn! Here are just a few happy little numbers that I found while surfing the net...........Are you getting happy yet??? As I stated above, you can find this little retro number on  ESTY . I can picture this being worn at an afternoon tea or a garden party. Who has those types of occasions you ask? Well, you do if you plan it! And this dress is worth planning a special occasion around;-) Simple hair and simple makeup would be best worn with this. See how Sarah Jessica is styling this look ab...

ORANGE You Glad to See Me?

Orange is not normally a color that I go for. But I am really in the mood for something new and exciting! Orange is a color that we don't see enough of, but at this moment I feel that it is making a comeback. We did see glimpses of it last year when the safari look hit stores in the early spring. This year we are seeing glimpses of it again, and for some reason I am taking a second glance at it. I do not want to become one of those people who say 'I cannot wear that color.' I want to always have the attitude that I will find the right shade that compliments me in every color! I will make it work somehow and you can too :-) We might have to put on a necklace to break the color up and away from our face a bit, and that is okay.  I love the way orange looks worn with navy or a dark khaki shade like she is wearing in the photo. The top in the photo to the left is from Talbots. It is from last spring, but I just found it on Talbots.com in the   OUTLET   section of their ...

THE EAGLE HAS LANDED~at American Eagle:-)

{Rhinestone and Braid Bracelet $12.50. This comes in a couple of other colors too!} www.ae.com American Eagle has never been my cup of tea. I walk by their window in the mall and see a whole bunch of shrunken tees, denim micro minis, and tattered jeans. Of course the window display always looks fabulous and I do actually look twice. It is amazing what they can do to make this merchandise look special and like a 'must have' for young teens. I am not saying there is anything wrong with looking like you are a laid back beach bum, I am just saying #1 it's too cold in Maine to fully achieve this beach look, and #2 it's just not really fashion. It's just clothes. And that's just my opinion. We welcome yours:-) BUT I do have to say that American Eagle has some fabulous accessories!! And you will NEED these accessories to glam up those jeans and tees from American Eagle. Or you can wear them with your business suit, your cocktail dress, to your daughters wedding, o...
