Laura's Style Necessity~THE TRENCH DRESS

The trench dress is one of my greatest style necessities. I knew that I was buying a classic when I found my Burberry double breasted trench dress (pictured in the left photo) a couple of years ago on Ebay. It is a piece that will never go out of style and I will always reach for it during the summer months when I want something that looks professional yet cool. It is a really easy piece to wear since it requires little thought to style. Just pop on a scarf, simple cz or pearl earrings, and some really cool pumps and I am good to go! If you don't already own one of these you just might need to think about it. A great look for the office, yet can look really sexy for an evening out as well. It's all about how you accessorize.

The fashion world has always favored skinny models to show off the latest trends. But it's the real women who actually buy them. Why does this make sense? Well I guess when it comes right down to the brutal truth, people buy things that look good. And lets face it, clothes look better when they are smaller. FALL for Flowers!

{Leifsdottir Alegrias tiered floral skirt} Totally unpredictable and completely cool. Flowers for fall are exactly what you need to take your "I miss summertime" blues away. There are no rules in fashion. It's just about achieving a look that is your best and that you feel good in. Who says plaid is the only print you can wear in the fall? Now, don't get me wrong. The Necessary Black T-Shirt

I have to admit, I have not been getting dressed up much these days. I think it has something to do with just wanted to be comfortable. I have been sewing a ton of masks at The Maine Square   and it just feels better to not be confined in my clothing as I am cutting fabric and sewing. However, I do have to go out of the studio occasionally. Mostly it's to the mailbox, but sometimes it's to get more supplies and of course food. I don't mean to sound pretentious or anything, but I do think about how I look even when going out to do these quick errands. It makes me feel good to look half decent! Lately I have been opting for a simple black tee shirt and a pair of semi faded jeans. All I need to do it pop on a camel colored blazer and some ballet flats and I am good to go! Oh yeah, and I ALWAYS wear a mask when entering a public facility these days.
