FALL for Fuchsia

When most of us think about clothes that we wear in the fall we automatically think warmer colors such as burnt oranges, browns, rusty reds, you get the picture. I say why not incorporate a cooler fall color such as fuchsia or a hot pink? I just love all the color that Nanette Lepore incorporated in her ready-to-wear fall 2010 collection. Click here to view the entire collection. (when you get to her site you will want to click on the word collections at the bottom of the page and then click on Fall 2010 :)

Below you will find more of my fuchsia favorites for fall:
Suede Ruche Bow Ankle Boot by  Bourne Cameron

I have never been a big fan of the quilted jacket, but I absolutely could not pass this one up from Burberry. (above) The stitching and pleating are such feminine features and of course the Burberry plaid details really catch your eye and make you realize that this is just not any ordinary quilted jacket.

And this Burberry check cotton button down blouse looks so cozy. (see below) Perfect with your most comfortable jeans while you are picking apples this fall.

OPI's polish in Peru B Ruby is one of my favorite transitional nail colors. It is just bright enough to say that summer isn't quite over yet and just dark enough to subtly remind you of whats to come. And Revlon's Colorburst lipstick in Fuchsia is one color that can compliment so many different skin tones and is a great alternative to wearing a bright red.

P.S. Keep in mind that fuchsia looks fabulous when paired with gray, brown, and camel!

Fashion Is For Models. STYLE Is For Real Women.

The fashion world has always favored skinny models to show off the latest trends. But it's the real women who actually buy them. Why does this make sense? Well I guess when it comes right down to the brutal truth, people buy things that look good. And lets face it, clothes look better when they are smaller. It's kind of like when I go into a store to try on shoes and the one on display that I am attracted to is a size 6 or 7 and then the sales clerk brings out my size (9 or 9/2) and I'm like "That's not the same shoe, is it? The one on display looks different!" The clerk tells me that it is in fact the same shoe. Suddenly, I don't want to try it on anymore. So, I just want to tell all you ladies out there who are not a size 4 in a dress that I get it. But we can't let it bother us.  Fashion is everywhere and marketing is everywhere and the majority of it is big beautiful pictures of skinny people. Keep in mind, models in magazines have the b...

FALL for Flowers!

{Leifsdottir Alegrias tiered floral skirt} Totally unpredictable and completely cool. Flowers for fall are exactly what you need to take your "I miss summertime" blues away. There are no rules in fashion. It's just about achieving a look that is your best and that you feel good in. Who says plaid is the only print you can wear in the fall? Now, don't get me wrong. Plaid is one of my favorite patterns. So maybe we can mix them together! {See below} Flower patterns are fun and so glamorous during any season. Just make your floral skirts a little more fall like by wearing a pair of colorful tights! Can you say FLOWER POWER?! And we are going to need some major FLOWER POWER especially when the temperature begins to drastically drop. {Christopher Kane ~ garden leather mini skirt} {Carolina Herrera}

The Necessary Black T-Shirt

I have to admit, I have not been getting dressed up much these days. I think it has something to do with just wanted to be comfortable. I have been sewing a ton of masks at The Maine Square   and it just feels better to not be confined in my clothing as I am cutting fabric and sewing. However, I do have to go out of the studio occasionally. Mostly it's to the mailbox, but sometimes it's to get more supplies and of course food. I don't mean to sound pretentious or anything, but I do think about how I look even when going out to do these quick errands. It makes me feel good to look half decent! Lately I have been opting for a simple black tee shirt and a pair of semi faded jeans. All I need to do it pop on a camel colored blazer and some ballet flats and I am good to go! Oh yeah, and I ALWAYS wear a mask when entering a public facility these days. I think it's just common courtesy with all that is going on with the corona virus.  Here are some of my all-time favori...
