My Slightly Stressful Turned Glorious Day!

This morning was a little hectic for me even though I got to go into work a little later than normal. I guess it was a little more of a head problem that I was having. I was meeting my new District Manager for the first time. It actually was my day off but, I wanted to go into work to meet her. PLUS I am in the process of hiring a new sales associate/stylist so I wanted to get her started on her new hire paper work asap. (BTW, welcome Jacquelyn!! You are gonna be a great addition to our team!) So, I knew that I was not technically "working" today, but I still wanted to be presentable. I thought that my dark denim skinny cropped jeans and my gray and white gingham checked blouse would be appropriate. For just a little color and contrast I added the scarf (it's a good thing I did because it was quite chilly this morning) and I also added the aqua enamel bracelet to reflect in the colors if the scarf. The gold/silver chain bracelet just made this look a little less safe and added that slight edginess that I needed to look like I am not too nice-y nice. (Don't  get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with being nice;)

Here is what I wore and how I wore it:
(a little Betty Draper, don't you think?)

Oh, and I was just wondering something. Has someone ever walked into your life and you immediately felt like you all of a sudden felt inspired and you could breathe fresh clean air??? Today was that day for me!!! Good things are coming. I can just feel it. My entire outlook has been transformed!

This is so adorable. Love the silver/gold bracelet. Please repost the source...thinking it is Etsy and the dealer was out of these when you first gave the info.

So happy your day turned out so well!

Fashion Is For Models. STYLE Is For Real Women.

The fashion world has always favored skinny models to show off the latest trends. But it's the real women who actually buy them. Why does this make sense? Well I guess when it comes right down to the brutal truth, people buy things that look good. And lets face it, clothes look better when they are smaller. It's kind of like when I go into a store to try on shoes and the one on display that I am attracted to is a size 6 or 7 and then the sales clerk brings out my size (9 or 9/2) and I'm like "That's not the same shoe, is it? The one on display looks different!" The clerk tells me that it is in fact the same shoe. Suddenly, I don't want to try it on anymore. So, I just want to tell all you ladies out there who are not a size 4 in a dress that I get it. But we can't let it bother us.  Fashion is everywhere and marketing is everywhere and the majority of it is big beautiful pictures of skinny people. Keep in mind, models in magazines have the b...

FALL for Flowers!

{Leifsdottir Alegrias tiered floral skirt} Totally unpredictable and completely cool. Flowers for fall are exactly what you need to take your "I miss summertime" blues away. There are no rules in fashion. It's just about achieving a look that is your best and that you feel good in. Who says plaid is the only print you can wear in the fall? Now, don't get me wrong. Plaid is one of my favorite patterns. So maybe we can mix them together! {See below} Flower patterns are fun and so glamorous during any season. Just make your floral skirts a little more fall like by wearing a pair of colorful tights! Can you say FLOWER POWER?! And we are going to need some major FLOWER POWER especially when the temperature begins to drastically drop. {Christopher Kane ~ garden leather mini skirt} {Carolina Herrera}

The Necessary Black T-Shirt

I have to admit, I have not been getting dressed up much these days. I think it has something to do with just wanted to be comfortable. I have been sewing a ton of masks at The Maine Square   and it just feels better to not be confined in my clothing as I am cutting fabric and sewing. However, I do have to go out of the studio occasionally. Mostly it's to the mailbox, but sometimes it's to get more supplies and of course food. I don't mean to sound pretentious or anything, but I do think about how I look even when going out to do these quick errands. It makes me feel good to look half decent! Lately I have been opting for a simple black tee shirt and a pair of semi faded jeans. All I need to do it pop on a camel colored blazer and some ballet flats and I am good to go! Oh yeah, and I ALWAYS wear a mask when entering a public facility these days. I think it's just common courtesy with all that is going on with the corona virus.  Here are some of my all-time favori...
