Laura's Latest Beauty Review

These are my three latest beauty product purchases: Lorac Natural performance foundation in a color called np 3, Lorac Baked perfecting powder in color pf2 and Derma e Anti Aging Pycnogenol moisturizing cream which is all natural for sensitive skin.

Here are my reviews:
 Lorac Natural Performance Foundation in shade NP3 allows for great coverage. The fact that it is oil, paraben and fragrance free is what attracted me, however I ended up returning it because it was just a little too heavy for my skin plus the shade didn't quite match my pale skin. It's not easy being a pale girl in a tan world! Also, it has no SPF which I know is not good because I am supposed to protect my skin from the sun's harmful rays, but SPF breaks me out into a rash! So, I wear a wide brim hat whenever I am outside to shade my face. This foundation rocks for anyone who wants full coverage. It goes on smooth and doesn't make me itch. Go to your local Sephora and get a sample today!

Lorac Baked perfecting powder was a nice consistency, but not matte enough. I don't like to shine so I returned that also. BTW, Sephora's return policy ROCKS. They don't make you feel bad for returning! You know how you feel when they ask if you used it, and you just want to lie and say no because you feel terrible returning a used product?! At Sephora the sales girl asked me if I had a chance to use it at home. That was a really nice way to word it :) She made me feel more comfortable with the fact that I was returning a used product. The sales girl told me that she never wanted me to keep anything that I didn't absolutely love!

I have seen the Soothing Moisturizing Creme with anti aging Pycnogenol by Derma e at the Natural Living Center in Bangor Maine and have hesitated to purchase it because I am not sure about their return policy. I have a feeling that if you brought in your own little sample jar they would let you take home a little to test, but I took a gamble and purchased the full size and I am not at all sorry! It has done nothing but good for my sensitive itchy skin. And it is not too greasy so it works well under my make up. This is definitely a keeper and I highly recommend!

Have you or would you try any of these products? I would love to hear about your latest beauty purchases! Please feel free to leave a comment!

Fashion Is For Models. STYLE Is For Real Women.

The fashion world has always favored skinny models to show off the latest trends. But it's the real women who actually buy them. Why does this make sense? Well I guess when it comes right down to the brutal truth, people buy things that look good. And lets face it, clothes look better when they are smaller. It's kind of like when I go into a store to try on shoes and the one on display that I am attracted to is a size 6 or 7 and then the sales clerk brings out my size (9 or 9/2) and I'm like "That's not the same shoe, is it? The one on display looks different!" The clerk tells me that it is in fact the same shoe. Suddenly, I don't want to try it on anymore. So, I just want to tell all you ladies out there who are not a size 4 in a dress that I get it. But we can't let it bother us.  Fashion is everywhere and marketing is everywhere and the majority of it is big beautiful pictures of skinny people. Keep in mind, models in magazines have the b...

FALL for Flowers!

{Leifsdottir Alegrias tiered floral skirt} Totally unpredictable and completely cool. Flowers for fall are exactly what you need to take your "I miss summertime" blues away. There are no rules in fashion. It's just about achieving a look that is your best and that you feel good in. Who says plaid is the only print you can wear in the fall? Now, don't get me wrong. Plaid is one of my favorite patterns. So maybe we can mix them together! {See below} Flower patterns are fun and so glamorous during any season. Just make your floral skirts a little more fall like by wearing a pair of colorful tights! Can you say FLOWER POWER?! And we are going to need some major FLOWER POWER especially when the temperature begins to drastically drop. {Christopher Kane ~ garden leather mini skirt} {Carolina Herrera}

The Necessary Black T-Shirt

I have to admit, I have not been getting dressed up much these days. I think it has something to do with just wanted to be comfortable. I have been sewing a ton of masks at The Maine Square   and it just feels better to not be confined in my clothing as I am cutting fabric and sewing. However, I do have to go out of the studio occasionally. Mostly it's to the mailbox, but sometimes it's to get more supplies and of course food. I don't mean to sound pretentious or anything, but I do think about how I look even when going out to do these quick errands. It makes me feel good to look half decent! Lately I have been opting for a simple black tee shirt and a pair of semi faded jeans. All I need to do it pop on a camel colored blazer and some ballet flats and I am good to go! Oh yeah, and I ALWAYS wear a mask when entering a public facility these days. I think it's just common courtesy with all that is going on with the corona virus.  Here are some of my all-time favori...
