Manly Monday ~ Should You Match Your Partner?

Since I was trying so hard to come up with something that you guys might need help with and was failing miserably, (This Manly Monday thing is new for me!) I decided to ask my husband for a little help. He didn't struggle for too long before he came up with an idea. He said "How about, should you match your partner when you are going out?" I thought that was a good idea. I hope you do too. Because that's what today's Manly Monday is all about.

So, should you match your partner when going out?

I say you definitely should coordinate, but not necessarily match. For instance, if she is wearing stripes that doesn't mean that you must wear stripes. It just simply means that you would wear something in the same color family as her stripes. You don't want to look the same, but you don't want to clash either. Haven't you ever seen that couple who enters a room and everyone notices them. They are like the breath of fresh air that everyone comes up for. Some of you may be saying that you hate that couple, but I know that's not true. You might be just a tiny bit jealous of that couple. And if you're not jealous, I can almost guarantee that she is. So make her happy and just ask what she is wearing before you take her out. Do a little planning when it comes to your look. I can attest that you will see positive results later that evening.
You know what I'm talking about guys.... ;)

Just to give you an idea, here are some examples of couples who coordinate nicely from one of my favorite blogs called

Fashion Is For Models. STYLE Is For Real Women.

The fashion world has always favored skinny models to show off the latest trends. But it's the real women who actually buy them. Why does this make sense? Well I guess when it comes right down to the brutal truth, people buy things that look good. And lets face it, clothes look better when they are smaller. It's kind of like when I go into a store to try on shoes and the one on display that I am attracted to is a size 6 or 7 and then the sales clerk brings out my size (9 or 9/2) and I'm like "That's not the same shoe, is it? The one on display looks different!" The clerk tells me that it is in fact the same shoe. Suddenly, I don't want to try it on anymore. So, I just want to tell all you ladies out there who are not a size 4 in a dress that I get it. But we can't let it bother us.  Fashion is everywhere and marketing is everywhere and the majority of it is big beautiful pictures of skinny people. Keep in mind, models in magazines have the b...

FALL for Flowers!

{Leifsdottir Alegrias tiered floral skirt} Totally unpredictable and completely cool. Flowers for fall are exactly what you need to take your "I miss summertime" blues away. There are no rules in fashion. It's just about achieving a look that is your best and that you feel good in. Who says plaid is the only print you can wear in the fall? Now, don't get me wrong. Plaid is one of my favorite patterns. So maybe we can mix them together! {See below} Flower patterns are fun and so glamorous during any season. Just make your floral skirts a little more fall like by wearing a pair of colorful tights! Can you say FLOWER POWER?! And we are going to need some major FLOWER POWER especially when the temperature begins to drastically drop. {Christopher Kane ~ garden leather mini skirt} {Carolina Herrera}

The Necessary Black T-Shirt

I have to admit, I have not been getting dressed up much these days. I think it has something to do with just wanted to be comfortable. I have been sewing a ton of masks at The Maine Square   and it just feels better to not be confined in my clothing as I am cutting fabric and sewing. However, I do have to go out of the studio occasionally. Mostly it's to the mailbox, but sometimes it's to get more supplies and of course food. I don't mean to sound pretentious or anything, but I do think about how I look even when going out to do these quick errands. It makes me feel good to look half decent! Lately I have been opting for a simple black tee shirt and a pair of semi faded jeans. All I need to do it pop on a camel colored blazer and some ballet flats and I am good to go! Oh yeah, and I ALWAYS wear a mask when entering a public facility these days. I think it's just common courtesy with all that is going on with the corona virus.  Here are some of my all-time favori...
