How Did YOU Celebrate Fashion Week?

{My models and I celebrating our Tribute to Fashion Week. From left to right: Cindy, Suz, Laura (that's me), Lise, Marion, Anne, Jodi and Elizabeth}

Fashion week is still going strong in London as we speak. Then we move on to Milan and then Paris. Fashion week in NYC was September 5th-September 12th. How did YOU celebrate?
It's sometimes difficult to get people to understand how passionate about fashion I am. But every year I manager to bring a group of ladies together who totally back me up and understand my crazy love for this world of glamour. I eventually hope to get some men involved!

We even managed to give our already adorable Elizabeth a whole new look for our special evening! Dejavu, a local salon, did her fabulous hair and make-up and TALBOTS provided the attire. Elizabeth was amazing and I can't even tell you how happy I was to have this opportunity to make her feel like a Disney Princess!

I just had to post this gorgeous photo of my friend and colleague Amy. This super cute bunny sweater is available at TALBOTS and I feel that Amy wore this sweater perfectly.

This is the dream team. The team that backs up all of my crazy ideas to celebrate fashion. I couldn't ask for a better group of women to have in my life.

Fashion Is For Models. STYLE Is For Real Women.

The fashion world has always favored skinny models to show off the latest trends. But it's the real women who actually buy them. Why does this make sense? Well I guess when it comes right down to the brutal truth, people buy things that look good. And lets face it, clothes look better when they are smaller. It's kind of like when I go into a store to try on shoes and the one on display that I am attracted to is a size 6 or 7 and then the sales clerk brings out my size (9 or 9/2) and I'm like "That's not the same shoe, is it? The one on display looks different!" The clerk tells me that it is in fact the same shoe. Suddenly, I don't want to try it on anymore. So, I just want to tell all you ladies out there who are not a size 4 in a dress that I get it. But we can't let it bother us.  Fashion is everywhere and marketing is everywhere and the majority of it is big beautiful pictures of skinny people. Keep in mind, models in magazines have the b...

FALL for Flowers!

{Leifsdottir Alegrias tiered floral skirt} Totally unpredictable and completely cool. Flowers for fall are exactly what you need to take your "I miss summertime" blues away. There are no rules in fashion. It's just about achieving a look that is your best and that you feel good in. Who says plaid is the only print you can wear in the fall? Now, don't get me wrong. Plaid is one of my favorite patterns. So maybe we can mix them together! {See below} Flower patterns are fun and so glamorous during any season. Just make your floral skirts a little more fall like by wearing a pair of colorful tights! Can you say FLOWER POWER?! And we are going to need some major FLOWER POWER especially when the temperature begins to drastically drop. {Christopher Kane ~ garden leather mini skirt} {Carolina Herrera}

The Necessary Black T-Shirt

I have to admit, I have not been getting dressed up much these days. I think it has something to do with just wanted to be comfortable. I have been sewing a ton of masks at The Maine Square   and it just feels better to not be confined in my clothing as I am cutting fabric and sewing. However, I do have to go out of the studio occasionally. Mostly it's to the mailbox, but sometimes it's to get more supplies and of course food. I don't mean to sound pretentious or anything, but I do think about how I look even when going out to do these quick errands. It makes me feel good to look half decent! Lately I have been opting for a simple black tee shirt and a pair of semi faded jeans. All I need to do it pop on a camel colored blazer and some ballet flats and I am good to go! Oh yeah, and I ALWAYS wear a mask when entering a public facility these days. I think it's just common courtesy with all that is going on with the corona virus.  Here are some of my all-time favori...
