Who Created Color-Blocking?
If it wasn't for these two men, color blocking in fashion would not exist!
Yves Saint Laurent 1936-2008 {left} & Piet Mondrian 1872-1944 {right}
Yves was inspired by Piet's abstract paintings to create color-blocking in fashion.
And below you will see how I was inspired to wear a color blocked skirt. This is typically something I have not been known to wear. But since my sophistication has grown, I feel great wearing color blocked styles. They have a modern/edgy look that makes me feel more grown up.
What I wore:
~ black turtleneck, bracelet and tights from Talbots
~ color blocked skirt by Spanner (purchase at Best Bib & Tucker in Downtown Bangor, Maine)
~ shoes by Gianni Bini
