Do You Wear Your Heart On Your Sleeve?.........Literally?

When I first saw this intarsia heart print sweater in one of my favorite stores in the whole world, my first thought was: cute?

Yes, cute with a question mark. I am all for anything that is different and I have always been kind of whimsical when it comes to dressing and even when decorating my home during the holidays. But was this sweater just too..............

Okay, I'll say it. YOUNG?

No, I don't think I'm old. I don't even know how to describe it. It's just that I felt funny when I tried this sweater on. Like I was trying to be something I'm not, or someone that I was and I was trying desperately to hold on to. I am not sure that it entirely has to do with age. It may have more to do with a style shift for me. Lately I feel comfortable in more sophisticated styles.

Do I love this sweater on Selma Blair in the photo below? Yes. I think she looks adorable. Do I want to look adorable? Not really. I want to look sopisticated and modern. I think I'm done with adorable. I will leave that look to the 20 somethings and 30 somethings. 

I am almost 40 something. Yes, I said almost.

This heart print skirt is adorable. I would feel like a loon wearing it. Would you wear it?
