I am super excited to announce my new partnership with Sarah's House of Maine

Sarah's House is a home where their sole purpose is to provide warm and loving hospitality for cancer patients receiving care at Eastern Maine Medical Center's Cancer Care of Maine. Please feel free to visit the following website to find out more information about the lovely Sarah's House of Maine: sarahshouseofmaine.org

If you follow my blog, you might already know that I am the owner and operator of The Canny Canary Shop which is an online vintage jewelry boutique. I love vintage jewelry and I thoroughly enjoy showing you how to incorporate it into your modern look every day!

My wonderful lifelong friend, philanthropist and fundraiser Judy Collier, came to me with fifteen lovely vintage jewels from an estate in Ellsworth, Maine a couple of weeks ago. Judy would like to see all of the proceeds from each one of these fine vintage jewels go towards Sarah's House of Maine. Judy is a breast cancer survivor herself and has a strong passion to help those in need of a place to stay while receiving care at Easter Maine Cancer Care Center of Maine.

Please feel free to click HERE to enjoy browsing The Sarah's House Vintage Collection. Now available at The Canny Canary.

ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE SARAH'S HOUSE COLLECTION WILL GO DIRECTLY TO SARAH'S HOUSE OF MAINE.

Fashion Is For Models. STYLE Is For Real Women.

The fashion world has always favored skinny models to show off the latest trends. But it's the real women who actually buy them. Why does this make sense? Well I guess when it comes right down to the brutal truth, people buy things that look good. And lets face it, clothes look better when they are smaller. It's kind of like when I go into a store to try on shoes and the one on display that I am attracted to is a size 6 or 7 and then the sales clerk brings out my size (9 or 9/2) and I'm like "That's not the same shoe, is it? The one on display looks different!" The clerk tells me that it is in fact the same shoe. Suddenly, I don't want to try it on anymore. So, I just want to tell all you ladies out there who are not a size 4 in a dress that I get it. But we can't let it bother us.  Fashion is everywhere and marketing is everywhere and the majority of it is big beautiful pictures of skinny people. Keep in mind, models in magazines have the b...

FALL for Flowers!

{Leifsdottir Alegrias tiered floral skirt} Totally unpredictable and completely cool. Flowers for fall are exactly what you need to take your "I miss summertime" blues away. There are no rules in fashion. It's just about achieving a look that is your best and that you feel good in. Who says plaid is the only print you can wear in the fall? Now, don't get me wrong. Plaid is one of my favorite patterns. So maybe we can mix them together! {See below} Flower patterns are fun and so glamorous during any season. Just make your floral skirts a little more fall like by wearing a pair of colorful tights! Can you say FLOWER POWER?! And we are going to need some major FLOWER POWER especially when the temperature begins to drastically drop. {Christopher Kane ~ garden leather mini skirt} {Carolina Herrera}

The Necessary Black T-Shirt

I have to admit, I have not been getting dressed up much these days. I think it has something to do with just wanted to be comfortable. I have been sewing a ton of masks at The Maine Square   and it just feels better to not be confined in my clothing as I am cutting fabric and sewing. However, I do have to go out of the studio occasionally. Mostly it's to the mailbox, but sometimes it's to get more supplies and of course food. I don't mean to sound pretentious or anything, but I do think about how I look even when going out to do these quick errands. It makes me feel good to look half decent! Lately I have been opting for a simple black tee shirt and a pair of semi faded jeans. All I need to do it pop on a camel colored blazer and some ballet flats and I am good to go! Oh yeah, and I ALWAYS wear a mask when entering a public facility these days. I think it's just common courtesy with all that is going on with the corona virus.  Here are some of my all-time favori...
