Rosette Accents Give That Feminine Touch

Rosette accents are everywhere this spring and how pretty! Everyone loves to see flowers in spring. I wish I was more of a landscaper but time is not on my side. There are not enough hours in a day to do everything I want to do! So instead of planting flowers, I wear them! If you find yourself loving the rosette accents but worry that they will not be in style next year, then you can stop worrying and wear them! Flowers come up every year right? So why wouldn't flowers be in fashion every year?! Lets put it this way, if you love something and you can change it up every year to make it look current, then it is always in style for you. This goes for every 'trend.'  This adorable floral clutch with the rosette accent is a little something I found on   Etsy . I LOVE Etsy for finding unique handmade pieces that I can work into my wardrobe. There are a ton of people out there with such creative talent! You should check it out. I have been dreaming about this Vera Wang r...

Sophronia Design Gives Peace on EARTH a Chance

{Mallory Sophronia Bruns~creator and designer of Sophronia Design modestly peaking out from behind the greenery} Sophronia Design was just one of over 70 organizations who participated in the University of Maine's 15th annual Hope Festival to celebrate Earth Day. Mallory makes handbags among other accessories out of recycled fabrics. Below are a few fabulous photos of some of her creations! The models looked like angelic earth loving flower children from the 60's The hair and make up was simply gorgeous!

Animal Magnetism at ANY AGE!

I was totally inspired by the subscribers edition of the Harper's Bazaar April cover shoot with Demi Moore feeding a giraffe high atop a spiral staircase wearing a spring design by the late Alexander McQueen.  So beautiful it looks like it is straight out a child's book of fairy tales. I have always loved animal prints and they just never seem to go out of style. Sometimes wearing animal prints in real life can be tricky. Too much print can look tacky depending on your age and the style of the garment. I believe that everyone can wear animal prints. You just have to know how  to wear them. A lot of it has to do with keeping accessories simple. (This includes your hairstyle) Keep reading to see how you can wear animal prints at any age! {Dolce & Gabbana} In your 20's you can do just about anything with animal prints and get away with it. You are only young once! See how her hair is really simple and pulled back. This is what we want. The last thing any lady should do...

Olivia Palermo Makes Her OWN Statement

Lets face it. Olivia Palermo has GREAT style. She might have more money than some of us make in our lifetime, but I truly believe that her sense of style has nothing to do with that. She just simply knows how to wear clothes, but most importantly she knows what to wear for accessories from her hair and make up (which is a big part of your total look that some people forget about) to her jewelry, shoes and handbag. She admitted in People Style Watch magazine that she sometimes get so excited about a piece of jewelry that she builds her outfit around it! To me this is normal. I do the same! Accessories are so fun to wear, but they can make or break your overall look. In her case her look is always a hit. She adores accessories so much that she recently has collaborated with designer Roberta Freymann to create her own jewelry line! As we know she is famous for sporting the coolest bib style necklaces. Now we can purchase the ones that she has created! You will want to click here >> ...

TREND ALERT! DENIM LEGGINGS!

{Juicy Couture denim leggings} The denim legging trend is probably the most comfortable trend that has ever happened! They feel like you are in your pj's. They are so soft and you will love wearing them on those bloated days. (we all have them:-( I didn't know how I was going to like this trend when I first heard the likes of it. This is an '80's look that has come back totally transformed into something modern and super cool. In the 80's we didn't know when enough was enough. We wore leggings with bright neon sweatshirts that hung off the shoulder, perhaps accessorized with rubber bracelets going up the arm, a Janet Jackson-esque key hanging off one of our over sized hoop earrings, and a big Madonna style bow on the top of our bushy permed hair. YIKES. It seemed like it was about how many bad looks we could possibly put together and wear all at the same time! Well, we are not back in the 80's, trust me. When wearing a denim legging keep the look clean and w...

Bold Wedges. They are more comfy than they look!

Talbots leather espadrille $129 Bold wedges are making a a come back this spring and summer! Would you dare wear them? They really are more comfortable than they look. They may look high but if they have a 2 inch platform and the heel height is 4 inches, then it actually will feel like only a 2 inch heel! Just be careful that you don't twist your ankle (ouch!) I recommend wearing them when you are sober;-) This bold wedge on the right is from Talbots . It is a little more modified for the lady who doesn't want to risk everything. Prada Chloe. This one has been made just for me! It's my fave;-) Valentino. This one was made for me too!!! I ADORE the bow;-)

Splatter It On!!!!

This look really caught my eye when flipping through my April edition of People Style Watch. As you know I am an 80's child so I was very influenced by this era. YIKES! Fortunately I did not stay completely stuck in the 80's. Come to think of it there were certain trends I did not follow. For one, I never had big hair. Thank God! The pictures of me from back then are bad enough! There were certain trends that I did follow though, and one of them being PAINT SPLATTERS! I think it was the colors that drew me in. They are so pretty and so random. It made me feel happy:-) Today I still feel the same! The tee on the right is by Born Famous Couture which is a brand that they often carry at Hot Topic. Who would have known that I would ever want to actually enter that store. huh......This just goes to show that you never want to say never! Beautiful, by YSL.

The Necessary Accessory

Here are a couple of accessories that I am DYING over right now!!! I feel that a red patent leather pump is something that will never go out of style so why not splurge a little! This one pictured here by Cole Haan is THE ONE. The heel is perfect and I will be able to wear it for 8 hours at work without killing myself for fashion, which I seem to do on a regular basis because it's worth it! But now I won't have to, or at least when I wear these shoes. They will look so great with anything from a little black cocktail dress to a pair of skinny white jeans, which is another necessary item I am on the hunt for this summer. This is another necessary accessory that I am after and I finally found the perfect one! This lovely little red patent leather belt with the gold buckle trim detail came from Cole Haan as well. It is just perfect. And since I am really getting into gold jewelry (costume jewelry of course) this belt will be the perfect match. Not that I haven't been kno...

Lighten Up Your Make Up!

It is now spring and before we know it we will be in full fledged summer mode! With the change of seasons we all tend to concentrate on our wardrobes. We switch them out and buy a couple of new pieces to keep things fresh. This is also a time where we want to change out our make up styles for something a little fresher and lighter. What's in your make up bag? Is it time for a little freshening up for the new season? Read on to see what's in mine! (or at least on my list;-) This is a beautiful palette by Josie Maran. Don't you remember her? In 1997 she became a very well known  face for Maybelline after becoming a model signed with Elite at the age of 17. She graced covers such as Glamour, Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, and Mademoiselle. She also went on to become the iconic Guess girl. And now Josie has created her own make up line. This girl has got it goin' on! I love applying a bit of iridescent shadow to my lids just for that extra shimmer when I go out in the e...

Mary-Kate + Ashley = FABULOUS

The Olsen twins have always had a special place in my heart. I was twelve or thirteen years old when they were on the TV sitcom Full House. At that time I didn't realize that they were twins and that they used to switch them off and on the set during taping. All I knew is that they were adorable and that I LOVED the show! Now they are 23 years old and not only are they beautiful ladies they are one of my greatest inspirations! I have always admired their personal style. Very modern and chic. I think Mary-Kate tends to go a little towards the boho side of  modern chic and Ashley tends to wear that sort of vintage modern chic style (which is more me, not that I don't totally appreciate Mary-Kate and her look as well:-) They both have each other and I would have to assume that sharing the spotlight with your twin sister must be about as good as stardom can get! I'm sure it can get a little crazy being famous since the day that you were put on this planet. Mary-Kate and Ashle...
